A Land Remembered Tobias MacIvey is a very influential person in the story A Land Remembered. He startes the tradition of excellence that shows through the whole story. Along with being the motivator of the story and a dynamic character he also has many helpful character traits. He is first of all the motivator of the story. Tobias refuses to let any one ever give up. When cows eat the orange trees he decides to not give up but sends Skillit to buy orange trees with taller trunks so the cows can't eat them. "Skillit I want you to go and buy some orange trees with longer trunks." When the mosquitoes kill the cows on the prairie Tobias rounds up a new herd the next year and tries again to move them to Punta Rassa. Another time he doesn't let things get the best of him is when his house is burnt down while he is moving cattle for the army. He just decides to move his family farther into the unexplored hammocks of Florida. Tobias is a dynamic character for many reasons. First of all, he goes from having nothing to having everything. What I mean by this it that he has barley enough to survive with when he first comes to Florida but as he continues his life, He becomes very wealthy and has trunks filled with Spanish gold. "He had come south out of Georgia in 1858. In his horse-drawn wagon there was a sack of corn, a few packs of seeds, a shotgun and a few shells, a cast iron pot, and the tools he would need to build his house." That just shows what little he had to work with when they first arrived. Tobias also gets older through out the story. The story starts off when he is thirty years old and goes till after he dies. Another thing that changes with Tobias is his way of survival. When he first comes to Florida he tries to find anything edible from coons to swamp cabbage. Then his sights get turned on to selling cows that he rounds up in the swamps for money so he can buy more supplies from the trading post. After he is too old to ride around on a horse and drive cattle he decides that oranges are what he should harvest to sell.

Last of all Tobias has many great character traits. The most important ones are, determined, not conforming to society, thoughtfulness, and honorability. He is very determined never to give up. When it seems his hopes and dreams are going down the hole, He holds himself together and tries again. Like when the swarms of mosquitoes kill his cows he tries to drive another heard the next year. He also is a nonconformist. He moves into the Florida frontier and starts over in a foreign place while most of the rest of the country is staying in their homeland. Tobias is also very thoughtful. He lets Skillit, Frog, and Bonzo live with him and he never lets someone he comes in contact with go needy. Like when he meets the Indians and saves them from the people that were after them. When he pays back the people it also shows that he is honorable. After he takes cows from farmers on the way to Punta Russa he makes sure to pay them back on the way home after he gets his money. He also says that if any cows are lost he will automatically count them as his cows and not deduct money from the other farmers. As you can see, Tobias is a very influential character in this novel. He is everything that a good person should be and more. We can tell this in the way that he changes, his role in the story, and his very admirable character persona. Please note that this sample paper on A Land Remembered is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. I am a teddy bear, aching for hug, a bird, waiting to be fed. Or an owl woken from a shotgun, a fog, fading away, a tree, falling down. But no, I am more like a balloon, a red balloon.A red balloon, waiting 20 years on the shelves just to be bought. in a store that always had its windows covered. With no sign on top, with no one ever coming to the store. Kids never knew there was a store, full of balloons for birthday parties. It seemed as though the owner never wanted to sell any thing, he said he wanted all of them for him self. But one day, a little girl came in. she found the existing secret of the store. She had dark black hair with green eyes and a fake smile to prove she deserves the balloon. She said she wanted to buy the nicest balloon there was for a friend. She had her eyes fixed one me. She bought me, gave me to her friend, trying to prove she's sweet. Her friend was a child, careless about things except what pleased him. He blew me up just so I won't pop, tied me with a ribbon, and shown me off to every one of his friends. I was a balloon he could be proud of. I was red and shiny, with wonderful pictures, with true air making my inside so visible. The ribbon was really what made me what I was, pretty and shiny. With out the ribbon I was a piece of red plastic lying here and there with nothing inside. And now I knew I would have stretch marks that would make me even more worthless. My ribbon was not very long. I couldn't get any farther then the ribbon allowed me to. My ribbon was heavier then my own weight. Choking me far more then I could pretend it wasn't when I tried to push my way through my wishes. I wanted to untie it and be free, wanted to fly in the sky, with the wind blowing, cheering and clapping, leading me closer to be with angles of god that made dreams come true. I never knew what I could see from higher above since all I wished was to fallow a child running and making quick turns to loose the others that were chasing him with laughter. The laugh of a child was what I was made for. The joy of happiness was all I cared about. The smile of a satisfied sole was what made me dance. Days were passing by. I was losing time to prove myself. To prove I am not just a balloon for decoration. To prove I am not just a red balloon. How sad! Who's going to believe I am not just a red balloon. Who is going to listen to my wish? Who will see the angles I do? Who will know the soft touch of wind is a blessing? My ribbon was losing hope in me. The naught was getting loss. And I was getting smaller and smaller. The smaller I got, I lost more of what I had inside, I was getting darker and darker, the darker I got the harder it was to see through my skin. Worst of all I was coming lower and lower to earth. To the soil humans Barry their dead. The soil every thing will once end up as. The little boy lost interest in playing with me. Because now I was ugly and worth less. Till one day he started poking me till I pop. And so I did. Every piece of me flew out of his hand, and landed so far away from each other no magic could ever make me what I once was again. I will wait for that magic to happen. To find out whether it was my fault or the ribbons fault. But only this time, time will not stop me from being with angles of god.

Hey well just thought I would write ya before I left for the weekend, even though you wont get this any time soon. But who knows how much I will talk to you this weekend.... I am just doing some WASH and then I am going to hit the hay because I still dont feel so great and it sucks because I havent been able to do anything all night. Well I hope you have a fun couple of days with your family, and hopefully I will win our little bet sometime this weekend... you crack me up! Well just know that I am thinking about you this whole weekend, even if I dont get to talk to you as much, but I am sure I will be talking about you all weekend. I will have plenty to tell you though when I get home, its always a riot going down to this lake. But anyhow, I have actually been doing a lot of thinking today, dont get your panties in a bunch its nothing bad, I just have a had a lot of time on my hands to do nothing but think about some things and on top of that I have realized a lot. I feel really bad though that I always get in those moods, and I really wish I could explain those to you because I know it seems like I am pushing you away or trying to push you away but thats not the case at all I guess I just do it sometimes because I want to see how strong our relationship is I dunno I cant really explain it how I want to, well because I dont really know why in the beginning. But the bottom line of me thinking about this is I dont want you to push me away because of it all. I know I never express myself to you, but the honest truth is I have never met some one before that makes me happier, right now I can honestly say I have everything I need right now. I know that when you express your feelings I never really say much, I just want you to understand that it takes a lot for me to express my self, it doesnt mean I dont have those feelings. I almost cry all the time just thinking about things and how much I miss you. I miss waking up to you every morning, I miss laughing at you, and the way you make me laugh, heck i even miss the way you sniff up your nose hairs. I have never really told you this before bascically I think because I really dont know how to say it... but I will give it a try... the first time I really saw you in that great ol study hall, yah i was attracted to you and all that but I paused for a second and thought now thats the type of guy I am going to end up with, but who ever knew that I would actually be with you at the end of year. I pray all the time that when you talk about your future plans that I will be right there with you, i never am the type of person that looks into the future, I am always the person that tells myself I go with what life brings me however I catch myself looking into the future a lot lately. I know you think you scare me away but I pray all the time that one of these days... a long time down the road... that i will be marrying you. ok well I am just starting to ramble now... I guess I just want you to know that I fell in love with you probably two weeks after I knew you, and doing this long distance thing has made me realize how strong my feelings are for you and how much you do mean to me. I just want you to know that I have never had more feelings for someone and i have never loved anyone so much and most of all nobody has ever made me happier.I hate writing all this in an email but you always tell me when it comes to me it does, and i guess I just started writing, even though thats just the beginning, but boy oh boy, I am getting off now and going to bed. I love you tons and miss you. Please note that this sample paper on About a girl is for your review only. Business report of the Body Shop and other Business

Claire P- Innovation and change in managementThe body shop Australia is an archivist organisation and a retailer committed to customer service. Their vision is to be operating and recognised as the benchmark company of commercial success and integration, stakeholder Fulfilment and social and environmental change. The Body shop has many beliefs and is against animal testing. Some changes that recently occurred within the organisation were the legislation on maternity leave- Paid maternity leave is now available to all staff including casuals, and technological change- new registers were incorporated in stores. There is also more activity in the shop and more concentration on customer service. These changes were brought about because the organisation is always striving for success, and these changes had to be brought upon, in order for the business to stay on top, and function as well as possible.

College papers on claire is cool

To cope with these changes, the body shop had to focus more on things within their individual stores, for example each store makes their own gifts and manages their own store as if it were their own business. They also employed more staff, and with the new staff, they ensured that they were properly trained and capable of any task that may need doing within the store. The management strategies used to implement these changes, were to have a leader who is a strong communicator, very positive and optimistic, a forward planner and a flexible coordinate, democratic leader who is extremely professional. In my opinion, The Body Shop's style of management is very advantageous because there is a lot of equality between the employees, so nobody feels as if they are just a casual and can't express their opinion. The way the body shop works as such a cooperative team is beneficial and successful because a lot gets done, and there is no competition between the employees. In allowing each store to run as if it is its own business creates a feeling of initiative and hard work for the managers of the individual stores. I think the idea of paid maternity leave for all employees is a great style of management because it allows women to have children without loosing their jobs or going through a financial crisis. The body Shop has a good management style compared to most businesses; however there are other businesses that have similar management styles.Vincent's Caf Restaurant is a small business that innovative and well managed. At Vincent's, the staff are treated all like equals and there is no dominating leader that has any more privileges than the staff, much like the body shop.Vincent's has also implemented change to keep on top of things. They have recently undergone renovations and now have a wood fire pizza oven. This has created a new form of income and a whole new division to the business with takeaway pizza. To cope with this change, more staff have been employed. And again, much like the body shop, the staffs are being trained as well as possible so they are capable of any task that may need to be performed. In conclusion I think that the management strategies of good businesses like the body shop and Vincent's have a lot to do with their success, and they will always be benefiting from this good management. Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in liberian president, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your liberian president paper at affordable prices!Liberia president, Charles Taylor, bears the greatest responsibility for serious violations of international humanitarian law. He has maintains an iron grip on power through a brutal armed guard and a small coterie of egregiously corrupt partners. Hes also accused of inciting wars in neighboring countries. He sent troops to seize Sierra Leones diamond fields, he sent Liberian soldiers to back rebel forces in Guinea and Ivory Coast as well. In fact, Taylor has been indicted in Sierra Leone for war crimes, an accusation he may never have to face because Nigeria doesnt have an extradition treaty with that country. Charles Taylor is a war crimes criminal due to his many relations for war crimes, crimes against humanity and other serious violations of international humanitarian law.It has become especially bloody under the reign of current President Charles Taylor. Taylor is accused of supporting rebel movements in neighboring countries including Sierra Leone, causing instability in the region. Within Liberia itself, a handful of rebel groups have been fighting Taylors government in attempts to wrestle it from power. The largest of these are the Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy - or Lurd - and the Movement for Democracy in Liberia (Model). These two groups control most of Liberias landmass and have severed the governments access to much of the countrys natural resources and revenue sources. Driven from their homes by fighting between army and rebel forces, entire families have moved into the stadium, building shelters of bamboo and leaving under bleachers, laying clothes to dry on the running track, living here on cold bare floors and camping out in locker rooms and offices. Others have sought refuge in schools and churches. Some ,000 people are camped out at the Samuel Doe Stadium. In the stadiums underground levels, a rabbit warren of bare concrete rooms teemed with people. Orange embers from charcoal fires and slits of sunlight from the occasional window provided the only light. The refugees waited in long lines, carrying away heavy sacks on their heads and retreating into the shadows of the stadium to cook meals on open fires. Many refugees have been living in the stadium for the past month, when fighting intensified. Both the United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan and West African leaders have urged the US to lead a peacekeeping force. But Bush has said that any US involvement will be small and of a short duration and is waiting for an assessment from a US military team which has gone to Liberia before deciding exactly what form any US involvement may take. Charles Taylor has said he is ready to resign - and take up an offer of asylum in Nigeria - but that peacekeepers must arrive first, or chaos will ensue. Also Nigeria has offered him safe exile but the details of this have not been made public.

Stability in Liberia is vital to its neighbors, not least to Sierra Leone and Ivory Coast, which have also found them caught up in the fighting in recent years. The departure of Charles Taylor will lead to greater peace and prosperity in the sub-region and thus allow the whole of West Africa to get back to concentrating on economic development rather than solving conflicts. However, a rebel takeover in Monrovia would not necessarily end the fighting, which Liberians have endured for so many years. It could just be another step in a long civil war. Please note that this sample paper on liberian president is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on liberian president, we are here to assist you. I know I'll never forgetThings have changed dramatically since the terrible, evil years of the unforgettable holocaust. We live in a society where people are fixated on their own ordeals, allowing us easily to forget the awful history and persecution of the Jewish people. But there is one thing I know I'll never forget and that is the holocaust. I'll never forget this event thanks to the continuous teaching of this topic to our generation, by committed teachers, and for this I am thankful. An event like this may not be forgotten nor excused for this is the reason that history repeats itself.I'll never forget the awful stories that came from the many different European countries. These stories have actually, in a difficult way, made it easier for me to grasp the concept. Some of the names in these stories are still familiar to me and will be forever. I'll never forget the deceased. I'll never forget their innocence and complete hopelessness. I'll never forget how the Jews were confined to live in jails, commonly known as ghettoes, in complete segregation. I'll never forget the disgusting conditions under which these Jews were forced to live. I'll never forget the way in which these Jews were killed nor the final solution. I'll never forget Kristallnacht, a terrible night in which a rampage in the streets resulted in hundreds of Jewish businesses being looted and many Jews being killed. I'll never forget any of these evil aspects of the holocaust. I'll never forget the stories of the survivors or their faces and voices. I'll never forget the expressions on their faces when telling their stories. I'll never forget the expression of joy on their faces when they learned that the holocaust was over. I'll never forget the tears streaming down their cheeks when they described how their families were killed. I'll never forget their anguish when describing their 'rulers'. I'll never forget their description of the tiny rations of their daily food portions. I'll never forget how many risked their lives to keep Jewish festivals. How could I ever forget such dark tales?

Essay writing services for I know I'll never forget papers

I'll never forget the righteous gentiles who risked their lives to aid the helpless. I'll never forget those who stood idly by, but I can understand them. I'll never forget the details of the bright and lively Jewish communities in pre-Holocaust days. I'll never forget the initial fall of these Jews and how they thought the entire regime was a passing phenomenon. I'll never forget the parents who were forced to tell their children that they cannot go to school today or go and play with their friends. I'll never forget the death camps and the concentration camps and I'll never understand how difficult the conditions were in these places. I'll never forget the gas showers or the crematoriums. I'll never forget the mass graves and the images of skeletons inside. I'll never forget the state of the bodies of these people and the look of despair on their faces. There is truly one thing I'll never forget and I know I'll never forget him or his oppressing regime. I'll never forget the way in which he murdered people carelessly and made an entire nation believe that what he was doing was only for the good of the nation. I'll never forget the man who killed six million Jews and theoretically many more if you count the generations, which never arose. I know I'll never forget Hitler and I urge you never to forget him and all his evil, not now or forever. Please note that this sample paper on I know I'll never forget is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. Bride BurningI. DowriesA. In 161 they were banned but they still happen quite often. And they are very dangerous. They're so dangerous because a man will marry a woman and if the dowry is not good or big enough the husband and sometimes the in-laws will kill the woman. Dowries are so much trouble that the birth of a girl is actually mourned in a family.B. Just about everything can be given in a dowry cash, clothes, jewelry, furniture and appliances.

Cheap research paper on Bride Burning

II. Widow BurningA. Widow Burning or Sati is when a woman's husband dies in most cases she is burnt alive next to his body. But if a wife dies the husband just remarries. It is the women's decision to be burned alive or not. But there is a debate on whether Sati should even be a choice or not.B. The Roop Kanawar Case. It sparked up a very big debate about whether widow burning was ok or not. 1. Roop Kanawar was burned alive next to her husband's dead body. She was 18. She made the decision to be burned alive.. Her parents didn't know that her husband had died let alone that their daughter had died. They found out about it by reading it in the paper.III. Bride Burning A. Bride Burning is basically when a woman's husband and in-laws push her into the kitchen fire or light her on fire. And then call it an accident. Families are rarely punished for this. In 14 alone 51 were killed in "accidental fires".B. Bride Burning all roots back to dowries. If a bride's family does not bring in enough dowry then the in-laws will kill the bride or torture her so much that they will drive her to commit suicide. Two examples of this are Sunita Vir and Mamta Mali. Sunita was held down by her father and brother in-law. While her husband poured kerosene over her and her mother in-law lit the match. They burned 6% of her body. Her story is unusual because her attackers were punished. They were all sentenced to life. Mamta's story is a little different. She was also tortured all the time for not bringing in enough dowry but she had had enough and so she took her three daughters and jumped down a well, killing all four.C. Ways that husband's will kill that brides are boiling her alive, cutting off her genitals or even thrusting objects in a girl's privates to induce internal bleeding. The worst is when the burn a bride alive and then cook her and then the groom's family will eat her flesh.IV. Jauhar, Witch Burning and Wife BurningA. Jauhar is the burning of wives and daughters so that they don't fall into the hands of enemies. Other times they cut off women's genitals, ears and noses. Some are boiled alive, sawed in two or eaten by dogs.B. Witch-hunts still happen even now in Hindu culture. Women they think are witches are eaten alive by dogs. They have boiling oil poured all over them. And after being paraded around naked, their genitals are cut off. Another kind of witch burning is killing prostitutes. In Hindu culture it is not a crime to kill a prostitute. Today hundreds of prostitutes disappear and bodies with cut off genitals and breasts are found by ponds and wells.C. Wife Burning is when a husband accuses his wife of cheating if she denies it, a council of elders will get together and create a huge fire. The accused wife will have to walk through the fire and if there are burns anywhere on her body she is guilty. And they will kill her and if she admits to cheating then she will be killed.Every 6 hours in India, a married woman is burnt alive, beaten to death or driven to commit suicide. Please note that this sample paper on Bride Burning is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. Hello everyone, and thanks for looking at my Barbarian Guide for Diablo ; this is my first ever attempt at making a guide for a video game, so please bear with me as I offer my insights into the Barbarian class. Before we begin, I would like to say that this guide assumes the reader

College Essays on Diablo II

has a basic familiarity with the game Diablo , LoD, and the terms and conventions used in the game. The guide is also written from a mostly Single Player, Player versus Monster perspective. I have only been playing Diablo for a few months at this point; I have never taken part in any duels, and have only played some limited multiplayer games with friends via TCP/IP. I dont use Battle.Net, and consequently do not have access to the sort of equipment one can find for sale from traders. It is, in fact, for these reasons that I have decided to try writing a guide for Diablo .Many of the other guides and FAQs I have seen for this game are written by people who have played for a long time, who have accumulated riches and ultra-powerful items over that time. Their advice and character builds, to me, reflect this experience and tend to assume an ability to choose from the best items in the game for even newly-made characters. I have no doubts that, for people with the resources to get the equipment recommended, and maybe a rush to get their character up to high levels in a day or two, the guides and FAQs Ive read are very helpful. However, to me, not everyone has the luxuries afforded by playing on Battle.Net, with the multitude of items for sale and the chance to get a character rushed to high level quickly. People like myself, who play Single Player most of the time, dont necessarily have access to all the wondrous items mentioned in these guides. Also, newer players who are just trying out a Barbarian for the first time, going by one of the guides written by more experienced players, may not immediately realize some of the unspoken things these guides do not mention; this is not to say that the writers of the other guides were wrong in leaving out those details - theyve played the game a lot, and such things to them would be so obvious as to not need mentioning. And also, several of the guides I have seen are built for specific types of playing styles - most notably dueling, or magic find runs, both of which are popular styles of play, but which might not be what a newer player is looking for ...I, as a newer player, feel I have a different perspective on the game than people who have played for years by now; I dont have the uber-items at hand and am usually playing with only myself and my lone NPC hireling to face the hordes of demons. I am trying, through this guide, to offer a different perspective than what other guides I have seen have had; to speak to those players who, like myself, are relative newcomers to the game and are wondering how theyll ever attain the demigod-like power of some of Battle.Nets veterans. I cannot offer tips on how to make a Barbarian Godly - but I can offer my experiences in how to make your Barbarian survive the rigors of the battles before him, making use of what you can find simply by playing the game, without trading, and by exploiting your Skills to good effect. And if I say something that makes a veteran look at the Barbarian with a new perspective - well, then Ill know I wrote something good. www.gamefaqs.com Please note that this sample paper on Diablo II is for your review only. What is Foreign Policy?Foreign Policy is a nations' attitude, actions (ie economic sanctions, peacekeeping, military activity) as well as our dealings with other countries (ie trade, immigration, aid, defence) and anything that is directed towards preserving and furthering certain national interests. Foreign Policy seeks to maintain national security, promote economic and trade interests, expand regional and global links, and promote the nation as a good global citizen. Why is FP unique in terms of FP making?Indeed, FP is unique in terms of policy making, largely because it requires little legislation. In essence, governments do not have to face a review of their policy enshrined in legislation in the Senate. Arguably FP may be made with little reference to Parliament as it usually obtains bi-partisan support as recently exemplified by the outstanding Labor Party support for an additional Medicare levy to cover the costs of Australian peacekeeping forces in East Timor. Consequentially, FP is seldom a topic for elections as it does not directly affect the electorate, nor does it gather the same level of community participation or interest as many other policies.

College papers on Australian foreign policy

Key features…A 1997 White Paper on Foreign and Trade Policy called 'In the National Interest' is the most important single statement on FP in recent years. It set the guideline for FP according to the National Interest. Implicit in the National Interest is to maintain national security through international diplomacy and readiness to defend the continent and territories against possible armed attack or other aggression, to protect and promote the nation's economic welfare and living standards, which increasingly depend on global economic growth, free international trade and the confidence of global international markets, and to keep our democratic way of life, and our civil and political liberties. A more recent foreign policy priority is the promotion of the nation as an active and responsible global citizen. Success in this area is measured by our response to human rights, terrorism, third world debt, and drug issues. Australia already has a well deserved international reputation because of the work of previous foreign ministers, e.g Bill Hayden and Gareth Evans on human rights. Key players and their roles…Decisions about FP are made by the executive and the bureaucracy making it incompatible with the democracy that Australia is. The government can dominate foreign policy in a way that it cannot dominate domestic policy. The specialised nature of the development, ultimate secrecy and lack of legislative obligations give priority to the executive. For these reasons, Backbenchers, Parliament and the Opposition have a minor role in influencing the development of FP. The close relationship between ministers and the Prime Minister implies that the PM is closely involved in FP making. A PM's particular interests can help shape FP as exemplified by Paul Keating who was a keen free trader and gave priority to relations with the Asia Pacific region. DFAT is responsible for protecting and advancing Australia's National interests by contributing to international security, national and economic trade performance and global cooperation; maintaining consular and passport services to Australian citizens; projecting a positive and accurate image of Australia internationally and enhancing public understanding of Australia's foreign and trade policy. melissa O Please note that this sample paper on Australian foreign policy is for your review only. Part 1 Geography Assessment1) Name the introduced specie? My introduced specie is the rabbit, which I am studying for this assessment.) Where did the species originate? They say that the angora which is the most common type of rabbit came from Ankara, Turkey in Asia minor. Although no one is for sure the name angora is from Ankara because there is the angora cat and angora goat and they all have the same fur.

) (The Map)4) In what year was the species introduced? Why or how was the species introduced? Rabbits are one of Australia's environmental pests. They have been one of the biggest causes to Australia's habitat destruction. They were introduced around 185 and in 1866 only 7 years after they species was introduced they had shot around 14,50 for sport alone.5) In good seasons there may have been one billion rabbits. As 16 rabbits eat as much as one sheep (Short,185), this is equivalent to approximately 60 million sheep and the consequent loss of production. The economic impact of present day rabbit populations is not well quantified but is estimated to be in the order of 0 million dollars in lost production and about 0 million spent on control By directly competing for food and habitat the rabbit has displaced many small to medium size marsupials such as the greater bilby, Macrotis lagotis (now an

endangered species), and the burrowing bettong Bettongia lesueur. Due to selective grazing the rabbit has changed ecosystem composition radically. When an ecosystem is changed, the dependant fauna are displaced by a depeletion in thier required food source and breeding grounds. In its spread across Australia, the rabbit took advantage of pre-existing burrows and evicted various burrowing mammals such as the rufous hare-wallaby Lagorchestes hisutus, the bilby Macrotis lagotis and the burrowing bettong Bettongia lesueur, from their burrows.A colony of rabbits will support a high number of predaters such as feral cat and foxes. These predators put stress on small populations of native mammals.Wildlife were often killed by poisions and traps set for rabbits. Rat-kangaroos, tiger-cats and magpies were some of the species inadvertently effected.

Part Geography AssessmentBiodiversity is all the living things and the importance of biodiversity is that flora finds there own food to be eat by animals and then animals are eaten by humans but the animals would be able to survive with out the flora so it makes a chain. But the meaning of biodiversity is all about all the living things from animals to humans to plants etc. all of them being able to survive in the same environments when all of them are changing the surroundings. A big impact on the Australian biodiversity is that the humans settlers as they have gone from little huts to now a day skyscrapers. They would have had to of killed millions of homes for animals through out Australia which would of effected our biodiversity badly. They should deffinetly stop building houses out of wood and use brick instead. Also use resources that will most likely be recycled in the future so you aren't destroying the animals homes all the time just when ever you want wood. Also with wood when its used for houses its most likely to be eaten up by termites not making it recycable. Although When a tree naturally dies which was a koalas house it can turn into a birds nest. Imagery in Poetry

If you order your custom term paper from our custom writing service you will receive a perfectly written assignment on Imagery in Poetry. What we need from you is to provide us with your detailed paper instructions for our experienced writers to follow all of your specific writing requirements. Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Imagery in Poetry, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Imagery in Poetry paper at affordable prices with !"After Apple-Picking" is a poem written by Robert Frost. In this poem, Frost uses imagery to an extreme. He takes an ordinary activity, like apple picking, and turns it into an overload for the senses. What makes this poem interesting is that six of the seven senses applied in poetry writing are used. "After Apple-Picking" is a poem for the senses in which the reader can actually see, smell, hear, and feel all the events of apple picking.

The first sense that is described in the poem is visual sense. The reader is initially given a visual image of the set-up the speaker has taken to pick the apples. Lines 1-5 give the reader an initial overview of the apple-picking set-up by describing tallness of the apple tree and how the ladder is poking out through the top of tree. The third line of the poem shows the reader an empty barrel, waiting to be filled by the apples. Frost later uses visual imagery to describe the look of the apples. Lines 1 and 0 describe the apple through visual imagery by stating "Stem end and blossom end, / And every fleck of russet showing clear". This gives the reader an image of the apples' landmarks including the stem and area of blossoming, it also is describing the color of the apple by detailing the small flecks of brown that are shown on the apples' skin.

The next sense described in the poem is olfactory sense. The eighth line of the poem, "The scent of apples I am drowsing off" gives the reader a sense of smelling the apples that have just been picked. By the speaker stating, "I am drowsing off" the reader can get a sense of the apples smelling strong enough to put someone to sleep. The smell of apples can be soothing and somewhat hypnotizing, which then begins putting the speaker to sleep after his long day of apple picking.

Kinesthetic imagery or movement or tension in the muscles or joints is described in line 1. The speaker states that his, "instep arch not only keeps ache," which means that his foot is hurting. It can be assumed that he is feeling this pain because he has been on the ladder picking apples most of the day. The reader is given a better understanding of the pain the speaker is feeling because he uses the word "ache" rather then pain or hurting, which can and may quickly be resolved. An ache, to most people, is an annoyance and something they wish would leave immediately. It is likely that the ache, which is spoken of, is constant and never leaves the speaker.

Lines -6 describe two senses, these being tactile and auditory.

I feel the ladder sway as the boughs bend.

And I keep hearing from the cellar bin

The rumbling sound

Of load on load of apples coming in.

The first line of this excerpt describes the feeling of the ladder moving, as the branches of the tree are being moved by the wind. The next three lines use the auditory sense in which the reader can hear the loads of apples coming into the cellar. The apples are not making a quiet noise; rather they are "rumbling" which gives the sense of a loud noise that may be a bit annoying.

In conclusion Frost does a wonderful job of using imagery in this poem. By using all the senses the reader is given a complete overview of what apple picking is like and how tiring it can be. The tiredness of the speaker is shown through all the senses he is feeling and by the language and tone used in the poem. The reader is given a sensory overload that will stick with them and may be one day they will go apple picking and experience the same senses. In 1787, 55 delegates represented the 1 states at the Constitutional Convention inPhiladelphia. federal courts. After the delegates found a way to solve each of the problem. A committee on styleand revision was assigned in early September to put the final results in language to submit tothe people for ratification. The committee consisted of Alexander Hamilton, Lewis Morris,James Madison, William Johnson, and Rufus King. The framers approved the text of theConstitution on September 15 and 17, all but three of the remaining delegates signed. The Constitution had to be ratified by nine states before it could take effect, andratification nearly failed. Anti-Federalists feared that the proposed Constitution did not protecttheir rights. The supporters of the Constitution was promised to modify the Constitution atthe first opportunity. Delaware became the first state to ratify, on December 7, 1787. It wasfollowed by Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, andSouth Carolina. On June 1, 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify, whichmade the Constitution legally effective. Since New York and Virginia didn't ratify, it wasdoubtful the Constitution could succeed. Virginia ratified four days later. New York finallyratified on July 6. North Carolina eventually ratified in 178, and Rhode Island in 170.

Madison was elected to the first Congress. He pushed through a series of proposalsthat became the first ten amendments (Bill of Rights). These amendments protected freedomof speech, press, and religion; guarantee a fair, and speedy trial for people charged ofcrimes; forbid cruel and unusual punishment; and provide many other protections against thegovernment. The states ratified the Bill of Rights in 171

The Most Significant Admenment Could you imagine not being able to say what was on your mind? Could youeven begin to think of following a religion that you don't believe in? In my eyes, thefirst amendment in the most significant to living life of freedom. "President Bush admitted for killing Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastret," thereporter announced. "How can he do that? Sometimes I think he can make the most stupidestmistakes. He's the President! How could he do such a thing!" I exclaimed. As the police officer heard me say those words. He came up to me and put mein cuffs. "What did I do?" I asked. "You made harsh remarks about a higher official." he pointed out, "You have aright to remain silence, whatever you say may be used against you in the court oflaw." For all you know we could all be following,Christianity, Judaism, and maybe even Buddhism. Some people could be in jailfor not following the religion they weren't suppose to be following. Life without thefirst amendment would be rather different, and hard. You would have to definitelyhave to think twice before you say something. You would have to watch what yousay, and hope that nothing slips out. We all would be praising a certain God, thatmost of probably wouldn't believe in. As we all live each day, knowing that we can express our thoughts. We should alltake the time to think about how our live would change dramatically if we didn't havethe first amendment. We are so lucky to have the freedom of speech, religion, press, and assembly. Please note that this sample paper on I don't have one is for your review only. ages many people have attempted to put into words theperfect expression of beauty. The portrayal of beauty can bediscovered in many areas of life such as fiction, art, music, non-fiction and the media.Fiction writers have tried to capture beauty ever sincethe days of princesses with long blond hair. K.A. Applegatesuggest that being pretty is having blond hair and blueeyes(). In the United States there as been an increase ofthe changing of hair color among youths. Also the use ofcolored contacts has been increased. Numerous young femalesexpire to be one of those fashion magazine girls(Applegate4). Without knowing girls obsess our their looks. Using makeup and buying expensive clothes seems to be what beauty isall about now. Messages about beauty appear in childrensfiction books, but they also arise in the advertisementsthey see.In an effort to achieve higher sales advertisementscontain images of many teen ideals. The musical idealChristina Aguilera appears in a cosmetics ad with blond hairand blue eyes(Fetish advertisement). Once again thisseemingly universal image of beauty is used. Aguileras hairwhich is natural black has been changed and her eyes withare brown were changed. The picture of Aguilera shows anappearance of fair smooth skin(Fetish advertisement). Mostteens dont realize that even though Aguilera may be wearingfetish products her image is further altered by computers. What kind of message does this throw out? that if you dontlike your body simply alter it. Advertisements may try toput an impression in the minds of youth, but classic poetrylends a helping hands.A golden pallor of voluptuous light(Paul 4). Thisphrase is saying that the presence of someone can fill aroom with golden light. This suggest that beauty isnt aphysical thing but something felt. What can she do putsmile, At her own perfect loveliness below(Paul 4). Beingcomfortable with who you are and how you look cast a beautyall its own. Being fine with your own loveliness rubs off onother people. Poets might be the only ones that point beautyin the right direction but how about non-fiction sources. In the teenage magazine Cosmogirl Michele Bender seemsto hit the nail on the head, Stop staring in the mirror somuch. Spending too much time on physical beauty wastevaluable time away. Spending that time on constructivethings like getting in shape will help the course of lifegreatly. ..picture in her mind of the way she had tolook(Cosmogirl 1). All the outside concepts of beautytend to bombard children before they can handle it. Whenthese children grow up they dont know anything aboutthemselves only what they have been told. The one thing most people see daily is the media.Through movies and television many things can be expressed. In the film The Phantom Menace the Queen wears lots of whitemake up on her face(Star Wars I The Phantom Menace). Thismovie is supposed to be a depiction of the future, wherewoman wear massive amounts of make up. This future is nodoubt not that far off for the woman of today. The Queennever showed her face without make up on(Star Wars I ThePhantom Menace). Most teens already do the same today. Theneed to look better surpasses convenience. So in the end is the individual actually the beholder ofbeauty. It all comes down to the person, but no matter whatwe are influenced to some extent by outside sources. Out ofthe many sources fiction, art, music, non-fiction and themedia few give a good source of the reality of beauty. Please note that this sample paper on Beauty is for your review only. What is a Man?Masculinity and manhood are very general, self opinionated topics. What does it mean to be a man? How does one qualify for the title? Is the term man simply referring to male human beings, or does it hold a greater measure of meaning in society? By definition, the word "man" is described as "an adult human being as distinguished from a female. In William Shakespeare's Macbeth, the main characters frequently dwell on this question and each have their own attitude towards the necessary qualities a true man must possess. Throughout the course of the play, we see a drastic change in not only the roll that both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth play in their relationship, but also their personal intentions and goals and just how far they will go to achieve these goals. One thing that never changes, however, is the stress which Lady Macbeth poses on her husband's masculinity. Lady Macbeth has a very different idea of qualities that represent manhood than those of other characters in the play. Although she believes in courage, strength, and fortitude, she also believes in some other more controversial qualities as well. Lady Macbeth feels that a man isn't truly a man unless he can kill without regret. She also believes that a true man should be able to keep his cool under any amount of pressure. Each of these examples are seen throughout the book and accurately demonstrate her opinions on what a "man" is. We first see Lady Macbeth's influence in the beginning of the novel, just before the devious plan to kill King Duncan takes place, when Macbeth expresses his fear and hesitation. In Lady Macbeth's eyes, the doubt which her husband displays is their biggest threat and the only way to fix this problem is to question his manhood. When you durst do it, then you were a man (I.vii4) This tactic works because Macbeth holds his wife's opinions of him in high regard. Another reason Lady Macbeth is able to convince Macbeth into completing the job is that he wants to please her because she is the dominant spouse in their relationship at this point in the play.

Online essay help on Whats a man?

In the banquet scene, Macbeth hallucinates and thinks he sees Banquo's bloody specter sitting at the table. As soon as Macbeth begins conversing with Banquo's ghost, Lady Macbeth apologizes for his behavior and again questions his masculinity in front of all of the guests. "If much you note him, You shall offend him, and extend his passion Feed, and regard him not.Are you a man?" (III.iv 65) This once again worked, and Macbeth snapped out of this trance almost instantaneously. This event exemplifies Lady Macbeth's power over her husband and the influence her opinion has on him. Lady Macbeth has a false impression on what being a man really is. On one hand she believes in courage, strength, and fortitude. However, she also believes that killing a man and showing no emotion also show masculinity. These examples strongly display her corrupt beliefs. While Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's authority changed drastically throughout the play, one thing that never changed was the stress which Lady Macbeth posed on her husband's masculinity. Manhood and what a "man" truly is, has always been a controversial topic. Although killing a man back in the 1600s was not as big of a deal as it is today, I still think that Lady Macbeth has a false opinion of what a "man" really is. Anna Karenina a Critical Essay Review Upon reading the novel Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy one must undoubtedly notice that there are a great many pages and thus a great many bits of detail and facets of the storyline. The novel in and of itself is essentially two separate novels with two unique plot lines and two distinctive casts of characters, but in fact intermingled and united together. In comprehending the very mass of the novel itself and considering every detail individually, one may wonder what some particular scenes contribute to the overall moral and theme of the work itself? Some scenes exist within the body that one thinks will contribute to the rising action or the conflict, but in fact nothing comes of these scenes. They are simply there for the author's own benefit it seems. That is exactly the question that Matthew Arnold is asking in his critical essay of Anna Karenina. Arnold queries in the opening of his essay if certain episodes such as Levin's tardiness to his wedding due to all of his clean shirts being packed away or Levin's brother Serge Ivanovich's near-proposal to Varenka are completely necessary in developing the plot and moral of the novel. One may definitely see his point at times while reading and tend to agree. These incidents seem to be dead ends that promise further development of the plot but in fact do no such thing. Arnold then offers a simple answer to his serious questioning of Tolstoy's very technique as a writer "...the truth is we are not to take 'Anna Karenina' as a work of art; we are to take it as a piece of life." Tolstoy did not intend to create a flawless piece of thematic perfection, he simply wanted to represent life as he saw it--with uneven twists and turns, sometimes leading to nowhere and accomplishing nothing. In that sense, Tolstory could not have been more accurate, more perfect in his imperfection and asymmetry. He simply offered a slice of life with a side order of philosophical morality--"The author saw it all happening so--saw it, and therefore relates it; and what his novel in this way loses in art it gains in reality."

Essay help on Anna Karenina: A Critical Essay Review

Through this device, this way of relating details, one cannot get better acquainted with the characters in Anna Karenina. To read this book is to see Kitty's innocent, pure eyes; to read this book is to hear the nervous cracking of Karenin's fingers; to read this book is to feel the energy of the room as Stiva enters. Every character presented is developed to such a degree that the reader truly feels akin to that personality and in tune with his or her thoughts. Tolstoy's thoughts and beliefs are expressed in all their contradictions through the characters in the book time and time again. Tolstoy offers no right or wrong in approaching all of life's questions and problems faced it--he only presents several points of view to the same focus, although one may be more ideal than another. It is only through depicting life unadulterated, no revisions or editing whatever, can one get to know the impulses, insecurities, weaknesses, and beliefs of the characters. Tolstoy is absolutely a brilliant master of this craft and could not articulate his point better. In a world where "art imitates life" it seems that the most beautiful form of art stems from the truest portrayal of life--Tolstoy's Anna Karenina being a brilliant example of this theory. Towards the end of our 11th grade year, every student was required to come up with a topic around which their History Internal Assessment would be based. For my part, due to the fact that I am relatively unknowledgeable on many aspects that have to do with Cuba, I chose to write my assessment on the Bay of Pigs. For this reason, I read the book "The Perfect Failure Kennedy, Eisenhower, and the CIA at the Bay of Pigs" by Trumbull Higgins. Though considerably critical, I found this book particularly good in describing the situation leading up to the Bay of Pigs, and the pits and falls that US policy fell through, causing this Cuban bloodbath. Starting from the very first chapter of the book, "Guatemala's 'Fortunes' and 'Success'", Higgins gives a slight background of the history of Cuba, ranging from 101 when Cuba was first liberated from Spain, up to a few years prior to the Bay of Pigs, in which the foundation for the conflict to come is already being set up. As the book goes on, Higgins also describes the events at the Bay of Pigs on that tragic seventeenth of April. He mentions the "frogmen" that went ashore with the landing lights at 0 AM, the troops that were supposed to move W, NW, and up the coast to reach troops at Playa Lagra, and also the T- trainer jets, with the two Sea Furies, and the two B-6s that Castro sent into the air to stop the invading forces. Clearly, the picture he paints of what the Cubans endured is one of betrayal, hurt, and treachery. Having fixed an agreement, the Cubans became the victims when the supplies, support, and aide never came.Going with the more analytical and disapproving approach, Higgins also comments on the way the United States handled the situation, frequently blaming the Central Intelligence Agency and the incompetence of the young inexperienced president Kennedy, and of his inept advisors. Nevertheless, Higgins backs up this opinion with the fact that Kennedy was "reported as initially desiring to splinter the agency into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds". In addition, Kennedy himself felt "a personal responsibility for the failure" (155). Furthermore, Higgins also seems to fault Eisenhower for pushing Kennedy to quickly decide on what to do and not warn anyone "Eisenhower urged Kennedy to keep his mouth shut about the whole operation" (77). In conclusion, though a considerable amount of the book does in fact deal with the basic narration of situations and historical events that pertain to the Bay of Pigs and its circumstantial surroundings, there is valuable and accurate insight and information. For example, a large amount of substantial evidence, such as newspaper reportages and varied quotes, prove his statements. For this reason, I believe this is a must-read for anyone who needs to get a detailed over-all picture of what exactly occurred in Cuba during this time, and how the United- States contributed, or failed to contribute, in this event. Subjectivity aside, which in fact is inevitable with any type of controversial political issue such as this, "The Perfect Failure" very well portrays the situation and perspective of the moment.

Description The aim of this report is to determine how both males and females are portrayed/stereotyped in the action genre and to obtain a general view on how people feel about these portrayals. The report will also ascertain as to why these stereotypes are found in action movies. Through the research done, an assessment and recommendation will be given with regard to this particular topic.Methodology Numerous mediums were used to gather the necessary research to fulfill the aims of the report. The main sources of information were gathered from books that I have on the topic as well as various web pages on the Internet. Other sources included a questionnaire that I used to gather views about the relevant topic, informal discussions and from certain films that pertain to the research. To reach a conclusion as to how genders are stereotyped in action films, I gathered information from film study books. These proved to have been more than adequate as they covered the subject in meticulous detail. The Internet was used to find a reason as to why genders are stereotyped and the questionnaires were key in achieving an opinion as to how these stereotypes are received by viewers.Findings Male action heroes tend to act to reinforce their patriarchal stand in masculinity. They rescue women, proving themselves protectors of women. They are proven desirable to women. Another thing that male heroes seem to have in common is that they are often symbols and not actors. They tend to take on physically demanding roles in each movie and often fit the stereotype of built up men with muscles rippling and guns blazing although this is not always the case.Females in action movies are stereotyped in a completely different way to men. Findings all show that women are depicted as weak and dependent on men to save them from a situation in which they cannot help themselves. Even heroines are frequently getting rescued in the final scene. As motivation for violence-- violence against women is the trigger for the (male) heroes violence, which is what the audience came to see. In this respect, the rape, abuse, murder, whatever, is a good thing -- it causes a desired response.

Female roles provide a second level of appeal. Rather than only the identifications and envy of hero, the male directed camera portrays desire of female. The women are attractive not only to the hero, but to the audience, in an attempt to make the film attractive. Many popular movies have been criticized for promoting girls to look a certain way. It is estimated that the female body type presented in movies such as Men In Black and Bond Movies only make up about % of the total female population. The answers to the questionnaire showed a general consensus amongst those interviewed that these portrayals of the sexes are in fact verifiable and quite common as 80% of those interviewed said that men were cast as heroic, muscular and aggressive characters while women's roles were limited to those of a helpless trophy girl or a sex goddess. The general feeling, however, was against the stereotypes and that they should not be allowed to progress any further (7% voted against the stereotypes). The question "safety is not related to how fast you go but how fast you stop" can not be answered without looking at the physics concepts involved. The answerer is not as clear cut as it may seem as factors of momentum, that is inertia in motion, inertia, mass, change in momentum, and impulse, all must be taken into account. The first concept we must look at momentum. Momentum is inertia in motion, which can be found by multiplying mass and velocity. If you increase either mass or velocity, you will increase the momentum, we need to look at this as the faster you go the more momentum you have, and therefore the more dangerous you are, so speed is a danger, which is by no means a safe act. The second important concept is the concept of impulse. Impulse changes momentum. Finding impulse is attained by multiplying force and time interval, change either of the two and the impulse is different. If you decelerate quickly you will have a smaller impulse, than a longer smoother deceleration. In the topic statement it states that it is not how fast you travel but how quickly you stop, if you were to travel at 60km.h-1 and stopped in 0m opposed to traveling at 100km.h-1 and stopping in the same distance, you would feel a shorter impulse, which makes the stopping 'rougher.' Inertia is another point that must be closely examined. Inertia is the tendency for a body to preserve its current state of motion, unless acted upon by an external force. This means things tend to do what they are already doing. For an example if you are traveling at 60km.h-1 and stopped over 0m your body would want to keep moving in the direction that it was doing so. If you stopped again over the same distance but from 100km.h-1 then you would experience a greater force of inertia, as your body would be wanting to stay moving at 100km as opposed to 60km in the other case. The faster you go the more inertia you have so you would be more likely to become injured the faster you go, especially if you are not wearing a seatbelt.

Cheap essay writing services offer help on Physics-The Physics of Stopping

To agree or disagree with the topic statement is difficult. In theory the statement 'Safety is not related to how fast you go but how fast you stop,' is correct, but then communism works in theory. In reality all factors must be considered, which the statement obviously doesn't cover. Yes if you can slow down in the same amount of time, you would be safer, however it doesn't take into consideration the effects on the driver. Human bodies are not designed to withstand the effect of dramatic deceleration, seatbelts can be useful, however it leaves vital areas like the neck unprotected, and whiplash can cause severe neck, and bone injuries. What happens if you stop very suddenly from a high speed and you're not wearing a seatbelt, you will stay in motion until something slows you down, which could be your windscreen, or a brick wall, and the effects are going to become worse the faster you travel. Put simply no I don't think that safety is related to how fast you stop as opposed to how fast you are traveling. Everyone would have their opinions on the topic sentence, and I think that the statement shows us the black and white, which looks good on the surface, but when examined closely has many flaws, as proven above. We must look at all aspects of physics involved and then make a decision, on weather or not the statement is true or not. Personally it has some truths to it, and it is correct to an extent but its flaws far outweigh the few truths to it. Where love rules, there is no will to power; and where power predominates, there love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other.Carl JungPeople have created a great number of games. A power game even didn't have to be invented for it lies in the nature of every living being. It has penetrated in almost every sphere of our day-to-day life politics, sport, family relations, different kinds of art, etc. According to the psychologist Alfred Adler, a domineering type of people is characterized by self-assurance and forcefulness with an insignificant social interest, if there is any. Being active, they do not act in favour of society, hence, do not care about its prosperity and well-being. Such type of people is oriented on superiority over the outside world. The thing they focus on is the top of a career ladder.

However, it doesn't mean that everyone takes part in this game. Human beings continue developing, and instincts go in the second place giving in to the desire to work for social needs instead ego ones. Adler believed that social interest is the main criterion of psychological maturity. Such people are not so much interested in money and power as the result of their work as in a breakthrough as a result of a creativity process. They get power as naturally as they get acknowledgement and awards for contribution in this or that field. They are more passive players of this game because their goal is wider than just getting power. It involves serving for the benefit of people. Taking into account what has been mentioned, we can differentiate between the two types of power game players· Those who put their mind to power so that they would overcome any stumbling block without taking into consideration that it can be life and fate of a person or the whole world. They do not get embarrassed when using such methods as lie, violence, and suppression. Hitler's and Stalin's behavior when climbing to the top of power and trying to keep it are the most revealing examples. There are more mild ones.· Those who developed their abilities, perfected their skills, and, hence, were rewarded by the power (this is a relative reward for it requires a lot of efforts and, even more importantly, responsibility). The power is the fact of recognition. For example, Vyacheslav Fetisov, who had been a brilliant hockey player, a successive coach, is now a minister of sports. It is more difficult to get power on the second road because, as Robert Frost once wrote, it is "the one less travelled by" that implies inventing new things and techniques to attract attention and win acknowledgement. But the harder the way is, the sweeter the fruit men in power bear afterwards is.As any other game this one has its set rules, although it depends on the field the player involved in. For example, if it is politics then etiquette should be observed, and a person should tell the things that people (electorate) would prefer to hear (though they may not be his or her true intentions). It goes without saying that life is a dual matter; hence, a power game can be directed both to the good and to the evil. I'm pessimistic about this question and consider most power games to lead to the latter. As soon as people get power, they forget about people around them as individuals and take them as the crowd (it's not just my speculation, it's what the acquaintance of mine confessed to me once when telling about his perception in times of having power). As I start reflecting on in, words of Thomas Jefferson float in my mind, "I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us, that the less we use our power the greater it will be". Saturday night at a restaurant. The evening was drawing to an end while I sat in a secluded spot in a diner on a busy highway. It was raining outside and the pattering of the rain could be heard on the roof. Outside the noise of the passing traffic and a howling wind, could be heard.I come here often to sit and look at the people coming and going. You learn a lot about people by observing them and their actions.

Tonight I've been watching a young couple a few tables from me. They are obviously in love. They were holding hands and whispering sweet words to each other most of the evening. Everything went just fine until a good looking hunk walked passed and winked at the girl. Needless to say she was an absolute beauty. She smiled at him and even waved at him. That was when the trouble started. Her partner got very annoyed and started quarreling with her. Soon they were engaged in a serious argument that went on and on. They were really having a problem keeping their voices down. She accused him of being a jealous bastard and a barbarian. Gosh, she had a tongue as sharp as a razor. He finally got his chance and called her a few rude names as well. The fight finally resulted into her storming out of the restaurant in a flood of tears. For a few moments he sat there in utter amazement and then rushed after her.At the table in the corner I notice two sturdy looking men entangled in a serious conversation, each over a glass of red wine. Problably dry. They were dressed in mohair suits and had an air of success all around them. With their cultivated mannerisims and philosophical looking faces, they looked capable of handling anything that could come their way. They were obviously enjoying the abundance of life and success. An uproar at the bar attracts my attention, and I'm just in time to see a very tall man enter. He sways from side to side, and is obviously already drunk. He falls onto a bar stool and beckons to the barman to bring him a drink. While waiting for the drink, he constantly wrings his hands. With closer examination I realize that he was once quite a handsome man, now in his mid-forties. His clothes are creased and frayed, but clean. His shoes are tattered. He has an angular-shaped face with clear-cut features, a wrinkled forehead, gray disheveled hair and a sad expression on his tanned face. He gives the impression of a man who has been reduced to poverty and a boring existence. After the first few drinks he orders something to eat, and devours it with a ravenous appetite. With another Whiskey in front of him, he becomes talkative and rattles about his life and lost opportunities. He talks on and on and bores everyone within hearing distance with his stories. After another few drinks, he gets up and stumbles out into the street. The restaurant is slowing running empty and I have learned valuable lessons. I will suffice to say that once again I realize the truth in the saying that all the world is a stage, and we are the actors playing the different roles.******************************** Please note that this sample paper on Saturday night at a restaurant - Descriptive essay is for your review only.
