In their sophomore to junior year teens start getting ready for one of the most exciting moments of their lives. This is getting prepared to receive their driver's license. Because the majority are 16 during this time they could start to take the different steps that will allow them to have their license. These steps are as follows First you should review the booklet that will prepare you for the written exam. The second step is to go to motor vehicle and take the exam. If you pass the test the same day the front clerk will provide you with a permit license. With this you will be capable of getting enough practice behind the wheel. Now that you have your permit the third step takes place, which is going to the 5-hour in class movie. This movie will teach you the hazards along with how a person should react in case of an emergency. The last step is that before and after confirming an appointment for the road test you should keep on practicing. The first step that should be take place is reviewing the booklet. When you see it you may think how am I going to learn all of this, but if you take it by parts it becomes easier. One of the most important parts to study are the chapters that describe the intersections and the signs, which you are supposed to distinguish such signs as a stop sign or a yield to right sign and what you should do when you see one. Another section of the book that will be helpful is the alcohol chapters where they discuss how DWI (driving while intoxicated) can affect your brain. Questions such as Which drink intoxicates you the fastest a can of beer, any kind of hard liquor such as whiskey, or a glass of wine? The answer to this is all of them could make you equally drunk because they all have the same amount of alcohol. These kinds of questions can appear in the test regarding this section of the book. When you feel confident enough you could go and take the written part of the test. It'll take you approximately 0 minutes to finish. Although each person is different, some may take less. The day you have this test try to relax don't stress yourself. I remember feeling nervous the day before the test but if you sleep well the night before and you have studied the book the concern shouldn't be much. Before you begin the clerks will call you up by order and take a picture of you. Next they will make sure you have good vision by making you read the black letters that appear in back of them. With this they will know if you need glasses to be able to drive especially during nighttime. As soon as you hand in the test the clerk informs you if you did well on it. If you have a motor vehicle the clerk gives you a temporary paper that will allow you to start driving accompanied with someone who is eighteen years or older who has a license. After you have sufficient practice, you are permitted during early hours to drive alone from school, the job or to your home.

The third step is to take the 5-hour movie class that consists of methods that will help you react to a situation while on the road. These could be such as while you're driving your car suddenly skids; the question is what should you do then? First you should never hit the brake because it will make it worse. Always maintain your hands on the wheel so if the car moves towards a dangerous place you can steer the wheel to the direction that you think is the safest. At the end of this film you will be asked to take a test that will demonstrate how well you understood the information given in the movie. If you do well on it you could go on to the last step. The final step is to practice and get used to how to stop correctly when getting close to a stop sign, which is to stop before the sign and look both directions making sure the road is clear. Parallel parking is used when parking between two cars. Always keep in mind to never hit the curb while your taking the road test. In many cases instructors will fail you. Another important part of the road test is the three-point turn used mostly to get off a dead end and back to a local street. One part that the instructor will check at all times while you're driving is that you look at the blind spot. To check your blind spot you should turn your head from left to right. Always put your direction signal on when making a three-point turn, leaving the curb or making a turn. When you feel ready to take the road test and you have had sufficient practice with all the above then at that moment you can call up for an appointment. At last the big day has come and you are feeling anxious and excited. You have waited and prepared yourself for over months. There's a line of cars and the gentleman at the road test site is making sure you're accompanied by an adult and checks that the car you're going to use is in good condition. You are next so the instructor goes into the car and gets all the paper work ready before asking you to leave the curb. He tells you where to turn and when to park or make the three point turn. Five minutes have past and the instructor tells you to head back to the site. At this point you want to know how you did so the instructor informs you that you have passed. The instructor also tells you that your license will be mailed within a month. At this moment you feel elated knowing you will be able to drive to school from now on. Please note that this sample paper on YOUNG DRIVERS is for your review only. I dont think any one film is ever going to change anything. I dont think any one newspaper article ever changes anything. But over a period of years, the drip, drip, drip of a lot of gook movies, a lot of good articles...all this is very, very, very important. The effect of that drip, drip, drip the daily diet of views and ideas that adhere to and promote what is best in society, that has an effect. Not one movie, not one article, not one building, but just that fact that all of us buckle down and try to do better and beter. The movie Schindlers List is a movie that is used to make people really think about what is right and what is wrong, specifically the Nazi treatement of the Jews. Throughout Schindlers List power scenes and images are used to capture how atrosic the treatment of the Jews really was. The movie helps people to get a view back in history and decide how they truly feel on the subject. It is Steven Speilburgs affective plot, content, imagery and film making skills that makes Schindlers List a movie that adds to constant drip, drip, drip of a viewpoint. The plot of the movie is very affective in displaying the severe treatment that the Jews experienced from the Nazis. The movie begins with Oskar Schindler getting on the good side of Nazi officers so that he will be able to obtain Jews to work for him without a problem. After Schindler obtains the Jews to work for him the movie really begins to focus on the horrible treatment towards the Jews. A scene that really stands out and shows a moment of realization for Schindler is when the Jews are stripped from their homes in the ghettos. This is a point in the movie where for the first time Schindler begins to see the hardships that the Jewish people have to face. The movie continues on to show many of the experiences of the Jews. After the Jews were stripped from their homes in the ghetto they were moved to the concentration camp where Ghert had control of the Jews. Spielberg is able to use Ghert to show the extreme hatred that some of the Nazis had toward Jews. With Gherts numerous random killings, Spielberg makes it evident that the Jews were being exterminated by the Nazis. The terrible treatement and the killing of the Jews really helps to build the plot of this movie.

Cheap college papers on Schindler's List 1005 words

Schindler witnesses this horrible treatment and the random killing of the Jews. This lets us the viewer get an idea of why Schindler decides to help the Jews. In the last past of the movie it focuses on Schindler trying to save Jewish lives by buying Jews to work in a factory where he is able to manipulate the Nazi soldiers to not treat the Jews poorly. For the viewer to see that Schindler begins to gain sypothy for the Jews after he witnesses their treatment is essential to the plot because this helps them to see it from a perspective of Schindler and helps them to understand his feelings, more importantly what kind of person that Schindler is. The viewer gets a much better perspective on why Schindler risks his live and spends all of his money in order to save the Jews. The use of plot by Spielberg plays an affective role throughout the movie. Another element that can be seen throughout the movie is the use of imagery. Spielberg does a great job on showing what was happening to the Jews. The viewer can feel as if they were in the movie where terrible things were happening. Effective imagery is used when a few of the Jews were shot in the head by Nazi soldiers. The people being shot had obviously done nothing wrong. For instance, the woman who told Ghert that the fondation needed to be repoured. She was just doing her job and she was shot in the head. After she falls to the ground you can see the blood flowing out of her head onto the ground. This imagery is used multiple times throughout the movie when other Jews are shot in the head. Imagery was continued to be used in the movie when the Jewish corpsases were being disposed of. This is seen a number of times throughout the movie. One time is when Schindler gets out of jail and ashes are coming down from the sky. The ashes were from the thousands of Jewish bodies were being burned in the incinerary. Jewish corpsases were also burried by the hundreds and there were also open burning pits where Jewish bodies were being dropped into the fire by convayor belts. The burning of the bodies was definately an effective use of imagery. The little girl that had the red jacket was the only color used in this film and she was a source of imagery. The girl stood out from all of the other Jewish people when they were being taken from their homes in the ghettos. She wondered around innocently, not really paying attention to what was going on around her. She was afraid of what was happening so she made her way unnoticed into an apartment where she was able to hide underneath a bed. This little girl was used as imagery to symbolize innosence. The red jacket she wore made her stand out so the viewer was really able to notice her. The fact that the girl was so young and so afraid is what symbolized her true innocense. This was another way Spielberg used imagery in the movie. Schindlers List is a movie that has a great impact on the viewers that see it. They are able to see the bad experiences that the Jewish community had to face with the Nazis. Schindlers List is an example of one of those movies that does not change peoples views, but with the drip, drip, drip of movies like this will truly begin to change peoples views. Please note that this sample paper on Schindler's List 1005 words is for your review only. The statement "The structure and content of feature article reflect and reinforce the attitudes and values of their target audience" is not always true. Some feature articles challenge the attitudes and values of their target audience by presenting biased facts and opinions to make the reader view a controversial topic or issue from a different perspective. On the other hand many others support this statement and endorse the attitudes and values of their target audience, such as "Fur Flies Again" by Tamsin Blanchard. "Fur flies again" was featured in The Weekend Australian Magazine. It is based on the return of fur in the fashion industry and the lack of opposition from animal welfare groups and the general public. The author Tamsin Blanchard has only included one point of view in the article. "Not since the '50s, when movie stars didn't know any better, have so many pop culture figures worn so much fur and with little reaction or comment" sums up the entire attitude of the article. TA The target audience of The Weekend Australian Magazine is men and women from the middle to the upper class therefore the target audience for "Fur flies again" is women of middle to upper class status who are 5 years and older. Since the 50's, wearing fur was thought to be immoral because of the fact that innocent animals were tortured and killed in horrible and cruel ways. While reading this article these women would be thinking "Thank goodness I'm not as vain or as selfish as these people who wear fur with no feeling of guilt". The target audience has been brought up around the same time as these celebrities who are wearing fur, but they do not have the need or the money to spare to buy fur clothing. As they are not as wealthy as this small group of influential celebrities they haven't been blinded by money and power, and still have morals and a sense of what is right and wrong. The article starts off by listing some of the celebrities who wear fur and that animal skins are the new celebrity security blanket. It goes on to say that the people who wore fur in the '50s didn't know of the suffering and torture that the animals went through, but this generation does. They have no excuse and cannot justify their wearing of fur with their ignorance. Tamsin Blanchard says how fur has slowly made a comeback over the past couple of years in tasteless fashion shows and she suggests that the people don't care about protecting animals against exploitation, as more and more fashion magazines are supporting fur and pushing it to become 'cool'. There is one quote from a celebrity fashion designer who is not in favor of fur in fashion. Stella McCartney said "My morals before money" and "there is nothing sexy about having an electrode put up your bottom", she sent a secretly filmed video of the pain and suffering encountered by animals which are killed for their fur. It suggests that some fashion designers use fur just to make money and they don't care that an animal has died because of them. This small part of the article dedicated to Stella McCartney's opposition to fur usage symbolises the small number of people who are taking action against the growing fur industry and many of the readers would agree with what she has to say. But at the end of the article it says that change is the oxygen of fashion and it doesn't matter where you stand on the issue of fur usage in fashion, it is definitely making a comeback. This comment urges the reader to take action or more innocent animals will be tortured and murdered just so they can be mismatched with a horrid outfit or made into a tasteless coat or stole.

Write my paper on Feature Article Analysis for me

The quotes (from Katie Grand, the editor of a British fashion magazine 'Pop'; Stella McCartney, fashion designer; and Tom Teifel-Kristensen, director of communications for Saga Furs) are used to support the authors view. Katie Grand says that wearing mink isn't a problem, we experiment on rats and other animals so there should be no problem wearing fur and Tom Teifel-Kristensen says that wearing fur is more widely accepted by younger people as it is seen as rebellion. These quotes maintain the idea that people are becoming comfortable with animal cruelty. "Fur Flies Again" lacks statistical evidence therefore graphics are used to create interest and validate and endorse the views of the author. Most of the pictures are of runway fur-fashion and to the average person, the fashion on the catwalk is bizarre and they wouldn't ever consider wearing most of it therefore these pictures make the reader think "why would people want to wear fur? It is so unattractive". The two most effective pictures are the ones on Jennifer Lopez and the US Vogue editor Anna Wintour. The picture of Jennifer Lopez has her in London wearing a fur hat and a coat with diamonds on the buckles which shows her as being selfish, spending too much money on her self rather that being compassionate and looking after others. The picture of Anna Wintour shows that even someone who works for one of the most popular fashion magazines has no fashion sense at all."Fur Flies Again" by Tamsin Blanchard is a great example of a feature article which supports the attitudes and values of its target audience. The overall message of the article is that the people of the world are losing their morals and have no compassion or respect for each other and the environment. Humans are too greedy and the 'morals before money' comment is a wake up call to the wealthy people who appear to have lost their morals and values and a call to action for the people who are against cruelty to animals. Animals aren't fashion accessories! Please note that this sample paper on Feature Article Analysis is for your review only. In this paper I will discuss the issue of African American men's portrayal in Toni Morrisons The Bluest Eye. I will talk about the issues of how Morrison's book perpetuates curtain stereotypes and also provides negative images of African American men. I will also go into the discussion of how after perpetuating men in such a negative light, how her book doesn't challenge the negative stereotypes she presented. I will draw on specific examples as to my opinions of the book to support my view. For as long as I can remember African Americans have been portrayed in a negative light, from being disobedient violent slaves, thought of as nothing more than savage beasts of the early days of slavery, to the present violet crazed nymphomaniac they are portrayed to be today. In Morrison's book The Bluest Eye, every male mentioned is followed with a negative description of the events of their life, and the negative outcome "they" produce because of it. Even the opening of the book started out with the mentioning of Pecola's father Cholly being the father of her baby started out with portraying him as a sex fiend obsessed by sex and putting negative ideas into the readers head. I feel that the opening set the stage for a negative spin on how African American men were to be portrayed throughout the story. I feel that the throughout the book the story had a pessimistic undertone of how it portrayed all the African American male charters. I felt that even in the case when an African American character's introduction to the story was a pleasant entrance it would later lead to a contradiction supporting a negative stereotype of how black men are generally perceived. For example, when Mr. Henry was introduced to the story, he was introduced to the reader as a pleasant man who came in the autumn and became a "roomer" to Claudia and Frieda's family. His opening was pleasant. He was described as living with Miss Della Jones on Thirteenth Street taking care of her after "that old crazy nigger she married up with", "run off with that trifling Peggy from Elyria". Mr. Henry's introduction to the story made him seem like a real winner. When the women talked about him they said things like "Henry ain't no chicken" describing him as brave, the also said " he ain't no buzzard, either", they also talked about why he hadn't married anyone in the area and suggested that there wasn't anyone good enough. They described him as a "sensible man and a steady worker with quiet ways," Later on, this was all to be contradicted. The story later portrayed Mr. Henry as a pervert; he had dirty "girly magazine" and slept with whores. The mentioning of how Mr. Henry came to be a roomer in Claudia and Frieda's house also leads to a negative perception of African American men. The talk of Miss Della's husband, and how when asked why he left a "nice good church woman" like Della, for that "heifer" Peggy, his answer was "the honest-to-God real reason was he couldn't take no more of that violet water Della Jones used." He said "he wanted a woman to smell like a woman." All this made him seem like a filthy man that liked dirty smelly women. It also made Miss Della seem like an innocent victim. The women in the story that talked about him also said the he was the cause of Miss Della's strokes.

Later on in the story, the next mention of Picola's father was that he was a old Dog who burned up his house, gone upside his wife's head and every one was outdoors as a result of him. He was further described as a renting black having put his family outdoors had catapulted himself beyond the reaches of human consideration. "He had joined the animals; was, indeed, an old dog, a snake, a ratty nigger." He was mentioned about being put in jail and getting released and not even visiting to see how Pecola was doing. The book subconsciously presented a described of African American male much like the description of the Breedlove family, as "traditional and stultifying and not unique," and blacks I thing suggested that blacks couldn't be convinced otherwise. Cholly's character was described as having ugliness that derived from a result of "despair, dissipation, and violence directed toward pretty things and weak people." He was a drunk who abused is wife and hated women because of his first sexual experience being a negative one he seemed to blame all misfortunes on women. Even his father left him.Every black male in the story with the exception of Claudia and Frieda's father were portrayed negatively any mention of an African American man was followed with the description of some dirty old dog that was good for nothing. All the men either drank heavily, was abusive, or was a pervert. Even the songs sung by Claudia and Frieda's mother were filled with the deception of African American males, and how their love led to nothing but sorrow and heartbreak. From the first appearance of a black man mention in the story, (Cholly being an incestuous dog), to the last Black man mentioned in the story, which was Soaphead who turned out to be a petifile, it all lead to the same underlining conclusion. It left me, the ready thinking that all black men are good-for-nothing old dirty dogs, in the view of Toni Morrison's book. The story portrayed it as an on going cycle, like a learned disease if that is possible. Please note that this sample paper on Toni Morrisons: The Bluest Eye is for your review only. Many years ago America's youth was dazzled by the simplest forms of entertainment such as jump ropes, bicycles, and swing sets. Now, as time has progressed, our children have quickly been engulfed by new forms of technology. Instead of board games and kickball, video games are now the primary source of entertainment for the extremely impressionable youth of today. Video games that were first marketed in the 170's were slowly accepted. It wasn't until the introduction of Nintendo in the early 180's that video games really begin to catch on. When video games first became widely accepted, the content was harmless. Pac Man and Pong were relatively non-violent games that were also among the most popular (Cesarone 1). With today's technology, video games are becoming increasingly more violent. In 00 Resistance Records released a game called Ethnic Cleansing, which was marketed towards teenage white males. According to Kellogg,a journalist for News World Communications, the game's object is to destroy a race of "subhumans" composed of African Americans and Latinos. Players are to navigate through an urban area that looks remarkably like New York City in order to complete their murder mission. Kellogg reports that the African American victims yell monkey and ape noises while they are being executed, while the Latinos yell such things as "I'll take a siesta now" and "Aye caramba". Ethnic Cleansing has an extremely high amount of racial battering within the game. Kellogg explains that as a "white supremacy" advocate the player would run through the subways finding Jews, while passing "National Alliance" posters (1). This violent, racist game targets teenagers encouraging white supremacy and a global race war. With games like Ethnic Cleansing on the market, one cannot help but wonder if children are affected by all the violence in the media. Cesarone from the U.S Department of Education examined 57 seventh and eight grade students in order to find their preference of video games. The most popular games contained fantasy violence and were preferred by a large percentage of the adolescents. Research by Cesarone states that around "6% of male students played video games for 1- hours a week, while % played -6 hours a week." Female students also participated in playing video games at home. According to Cesarone's study, "4% played 1- hours and 15% played -6 hours a week" (1).

With the amount of time children spend playing electronic games, one needs to look at what types of games are most frequently played. Unfortunately, the most appealing video games are the games which contain excessive amounts of violence. A survey of 00 middle school students found that almost half the children stated their favorite video games involved explicit violence (Hanson). One could argue that if not through video games children would be influenced through other forms of media. The fact is that video games are interactive which ultimately makes electronic games more harmful than just watching television. The aggressiveness in today's youth can be seen through horrible acts of terror that have occurred due to the influence of video games. Michael Carneal, a 14 year old Paducah, Kentucky High School student opened fire on his peers on December 7, 17. Carneal was obsessed with violent video games and is now being faced with a $100 million lawsuit filed by the victims' families. Carneal was provoked by games such as Doom and Quake produced by Midway Games and ID software (Hanson). Michael Carneal's incident was not the only killing spree provoked by video games. Karen E. Dill, a professor at Lenior-Rhyne College, reports that two students from Littleton, Colorado launched an assault on Columbine High School on April 0, 1. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold murdered 1 people and wounded before ultimately taking their own lives. Dill states that it is unlikely the cause of the attack will be uncovered, but one possible reason could be the boys' enjoyment of sadistic video games. Harris and Klebold played the electronic game Doom, which is a aggressive game that teaches the player to "effectively kill". It was later discovered that Harris had created his own version of Doom on his website. His version included two shooters that wore trenchcoats, carried various kinds of weapons, and killed school athletes. Dill reports that an investigator said that Harris and Klebold "were playing out their game in god mode" (). It is very likely that the affects of watching violent television programs are very similar to those of playing violent video games. Therefore, one must take note of television research. Studies have shown that there is a noticeable increase from % to 15% in an individual's aggressive behavior after viewing violent television programs (Cesarone ). Given the conclusive research, one must use severe caution before exposing children to the dangers of violent video games. Parents should limit the playing time and game selection according to content to avoid over aggressiveness and real life violence.
