Whathas happened to the Standard of living in Canada duringthis same period?AnswerTo address the in economy Canada you must define the areas to be measured. Economic expansion occurs when the economy is growing and people are spending money. In order to be doing this, there must be money to be made. Therefore there must be some kind of workforce to employ the people in order to make the money to be spent. Conversely the opposite happens during a recession when the economy slows down. Business at this time is not able to sell as many products. They then increase layoffs, which will slow down the economy and see a decline in productivity and spending of consumers. As a starting point to address this question, the fist point addressed will be the unemployment rate. This rate is defined as the condition in which a population wants to work but cant find jobs (1). In the time January 1 to January 00 the unemployment rate went from 11.1% to 7.4% (1). This decrease in the unemployment rate accounted for .7% increase in the number of employed work force. This in turn would create more jobs, and with all other thing being equal would create more income for its citizens to spend. With more jobs comes more spending and more growth. Communities spend more on building and increasing there infrastructure. Another indicator to measure the economy is called the gross domestic product. This is defined as the sum of all goods and services produced in a country during a year. Gross domestic product is also referred as economic output. In the year from January 1 to January 00 the gross domestic product has risen 5.5%(table 1). This indicates the economy has grown significantly during this time with more goods and services produced in Canada. An indicator to address the standard of living in could be the consumer price index. The consumer price index is a broad measure of the cost of living in Canada . In this time period the consumer price index increased 18.% . Therefore the average annual rate of inflation was 1.6%. The bank of Canada has an Inflation control target set at around %. Over this period of time the average inflation was well within the target. It would be my conclusion based on these indicators that the Canadian economy has grown and the standard of living has increased. These of course are the financial indicators that do not take into account all the diversity of a country. Standard of living has many angles like education access to health care and fresh water and food for the poor. These of course do not take into account all of these. When accessing standard of living it may be better judged by the United Nations human development reports, where in 00 Canada ranked number third on the list4. These reports are compiled using many indicators not just financial ones, like political freedom, adolescent school enrollment and more. Using this Canada ranked third behind Sweden and Norway, but ahead of the United states and Japan, which if you just used the financial indicators it would not have ranked as high. This may be a better indicator as a better overall standard of living Indicator. Please note that this sample paper on trade disputes in america is for your review only. Jim Ambrose, is a -year-old citizen of Monroe but he hasn't always lived here. I am going to let you know what it was like for a kid in the late 60's, 70's, and early 80's. Jim was born in Pasadena, California in 167. During the first few years of his life he spent his life moving around and living in different places. Finally in 175 he settled down in a low-income housing community which was run by FHA. In the interview Jim said, "Kind of like Habitat for Humanity." What he could remember of this life was that the community was very friendly and he would always be doing things with the other kids in the community. Then in 178 Jim moved to Ohio where he would live at up until he graduated High School. In Ohio Jim lived in a nice trailer park compared to the ones of today. He spent most of his time inside sheltered from the rest of the world. During these times the economy was bad for low-income families. An exact quote that Jim gave me, "My mom cried when Ronald Regan won the Presidential Election." But when he wasn't at home he was hanging out with his friends at the park. Him and his friends didn't drink nor do drugs. In high school Jim was not considered a real popular kid so he said, "The peer pressure wasn't really bad." When he went to the park he would see the cheerleaders and the sports players smoking, drinking, and having sex. "I was a virgin until twenty-one," said Jim. He figured he could wait. In his junior year Jim became a peer counselor for his school. That was when the jocks started to show Jim with a little bit more respect. He stayed in this program in his junior and senior years of high school. Every few weeks he would go to peer counseling camps where he learned about teen sex, drugs, and alcohol. He said, "This was a very powerful experience and partly the reason he was a virgin until 1." During his teenage years Jim's relationship with his parents wasn't very good. But when I asked him he said "I tended to get along better with my mom then my dad but she wasn't always there for me." His mom would spend most of the time sitting on the edge of the couch watching soap operas. Jim's dad wasn't much better because he was a truck driver and Jim wouldn't see him for weeks upon weeks. But this one time when Jim was Linus in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" after the show his dad came up and told him, "This made my week son." This of course shocked Jim because his dad hardly ever showed Jim any affection. But when his dad did show him any affection it was a surprise. Just before his dad died he told Jim's mother "I wished I had talked to Jim more." One of the bad moments Jim could remember was when Jim reared his fist back like he was going to hit his dad and Jim's dad clocked Jim with his fist and sent him clear through the wall into the bathroom from the living room. But this was just a rare moment. So as you can tell as a kid Jim was raised in a low-income family who moved a lot. His dad wasn't around much and when he was he didn't show any affection to his kids. Jim's mom would just watch soap operas on the couch all day. But I think Jim turned out all right because he is a very kind and courteous person. He has a great job, teaches catechism, and is an assistant youth group leader.

When you play a part or a role to disguise your true character it harms you in the end. Hamlet's antic disposition was a tragic error on his part because it let to his eventual demise. Hamlet displays the antic disposition in order to fool Claudius, although Claudius is the only character to not be fooled. When Hamlet denies Ophelia his love, she goes mad and takes her life. Hamlet becomes confused as to whether he is insane or not. For these reasons, Hamlet's decision to portray an antic disposition is a tragic error. When Hamlet found out that Claudius killed his father Hamlet was furious, and got right to work on how to get his fathers revenge. Hamlet went to work by coming up with a plan to act mad so that it would hide the truth from Claudius, which was that Hamlet was going to kill Claudius. Hamlet has no such luck. Claudius does not believe Hamlet's attempt at pretending that he is mad. Was not like madness. There's something in his soul (III; I; 161). This means that Claudius does not believe that Hamlet is insane, but rather has some sort of plan being brewed. Claudius also has a plan that is to kill hamlet. This is ironic because in the end they end up Claudius is in the end murdered by Hamlet. Hamlet must act mad if he wants Claudius to believe him, so Hamlet uses his confrontations with Ophelia to display it. Ophelia is manipulated by Hamlet for his own personal gain. Hamlet uses Ophelia to get the word that he is mad around the kingdom. This is sad because Ophelia is innocent and she ends up committing suicide in the end. One of the way's Hamlet fools Ophelia into believing that he is insane is by scaring her. (II; I;75). I have been so affrighted. Hamlet fools Ophelia into believing that he is mad by killing Polonius behind a curtain in the Gertrude's room. This incident drives Ophelia into becoming insane and leads to her taking her own life. Hamlet spends much of his time pretending to be mad, that he starts to believe that he really is insane. Hamlet feels as if he is losing control when he sees his father's ghost in Gertrude's chambers. Every other time the ghost appeared, someone else saw it as well, only this time his mother did not see it. On him, on him! Look you, how pale he glares! (III; iv; 16) He believes that there is something inside of him that he no longer has control over. I in me something dangerous (V; 1; 5-40) Hamlet begins to believe he should be murdered for his offences, and that he deserves to suffer. My head should be struck off (V;ii;4). Approaching the end of the story, Hamlet can no longer determine whether he is mentally fit and he pays the ultimate price.

Professional writers help on Hi essays

In conclusion Hamlet's decision to portray the antic disposition was a tragic error for it led to his eventual demise. In the end, Hamlet did not fool Claudius into believing that he had gone insane. Hamlet had fooled poor Ophelia into believing he was mad, causing her to commit suicide. Hamlet became confused on the matter of whether he had gone mad himself. These events resulted in Hamlets life being drastically changed. As Hamlet discovered, when playing the part of insanity, you must be careful, or you may become that part. This year, the year 00 we have come together to celebrate one hundred years of African American success. We come to commemorate one hundred years of struggles and achievements. From the establishment of the NAACP to the fight for Civil Rights in the sixties, we have witnessed racial promotion become more common in the African American communities. Towards the early mark of the century it was common for African Americans to promote racial marginalism. It is now visible, one hundred years later, that we have stepped away from marginalism. As we reflect upon the centennial achievements, we are obligated to think of such achievements as the NAACP, Civil Rights Movement, African Americans in music, drama, sports, and government. However, we tend to neglect African American journals. As we overlook African American Journals we do not see that African American journals, at the beginning of the Centennial Reflection, created African American readers. Such journals such as The Messenger, The Opportunity, The Crisis, and The North Star not only created African Americans writers but African American readers. The last one hundred years comprise of several "African American Time Periods. " These "time periods" are From Reconstruction to the New Negro Renaissance. This age is from the Emancipation Proclamation to the time in which Alain Locke thought there was a "New Negro." This epoch includes such persons as Booker T. Washington, Charles Chesnut, W.E.B DuBois, James Weldon Johnson, and others. The ensuing period is the Harlem Renaissance, in which we are obliged to commemorate such names as Billie Holliday, Cab Calloway, and Duke Ellington. But what we fail to see is that the Harlem Renaissance was an explosion of aptitude, or as W.E.B DuBois would say, "The Talented Ten." Which was referred to as "Ten percent of every generation has God given talent." The Talented Ten, was written by W.E.B DuBois book "Souls of Black Folks." The final period was Realism, Naturalism, and Modernism. This was between the period of 140 to 160. This included such anamnesis as the Civil Rights Movement and Voters Registration law being passed. The Harlem Renaissance has become a time for remembrance, and recognition. This outstanding day in age is now known as a period for phenomenal literature, musical, and artistic vigor and creativity in the U.S. The Harlem Renaissance produced sophisticated explorations of black American life and culture that revealed and stimulated a new confidence and racial pride and promotion.

In conclusion, we see that the African American race has not only come a long way but has overcome numerous obstacles with trophies to show. These trophies are achievements such as desegregation, and civil rights for all. When we say we are showing recognition for the African American race, we cannot compile all of these achievements into only one hundred years. The black race extends further then any textbook can hold. For the last one hundred years we have found that Alain Locke's book "The New Negro" was not only an idea but a fact, because we have grown from a race that promoted racial marginalism and now have grown to a race that promotes racial pride. The Olive Branch Petition The Olive Branch Petition was drafted by John Dickenson during the Second Continental Congress on July 5 1775. The American Revolution had already started with the Battles of Concord, Lexington and Bunker Hill. The members of the Continental Congress disagreed about what steps to take in order to dissolve the confrontation with the King. Some wanted Independence even if it meant war. The Loyalists did not want to betray King George III, even though they disagreed with taxation without representation. They met a compromise to plea with the King one last time to reach a reasonable solution. They called it the Olive Branch Petition after an ancient symbol of light and peace. According to biblical reference, the oil from the fruit of one olive tree can supply the needs for one family for a long time. The petition declared the colonies loyal to the King and said they only want peace with England. On July 8, 1775, the members of the Continental Congress signed the document and sent it to the King. Among the signatures were those of John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, John Adams, Tomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, John Jay, Lewis Morris, Roger Sherman, and other founding fathers. King George refused to read the petition. He said it was an illegal document created by an illegal congress. On August , 1775, he proclaimed that the colonists had "proceeded to open and avowed rebellion".

The Olive Branch Petition represents the final effort of the Colonists to amend the differences with the mother country. Some people think that if the King had accepted the petition the Americans would have fought for Independence nevertheless. The petition would have patched things up with the colonists and the mother country for a short time. Sooner or later more differences would arise, and more colonists would want to fight for independence than did before. One way that the war for Independence could have been avoided is if the mother country had some representation in the colonies, such as a King. Some make it seem that the Loyalists did not want war with the King because they had a strong faith to the British Crown. There was still a large majority of colonists who felt strong about Independence. The reason the petition was drafted was just to compromise with the Loyalists. The Loyalists did not agree with taxes and laws that the King declared. The betrayal was not protested because of faith, but because of fear that America would be taken over by another country. If another super power country of the time did in fact take over, the colonists would have even more differences than with their mother country. One major difference the loyalists were concerned about was religions; they did not practice the same religion as other super power countries. If the Loyalists were so extreme with their commitment with the King they would have not left the mother country. So the Loyalists weren't against war because they were worried about causalities or betraying the King. I think they just intimidated by the British military. The colonists were out numbered and the British were known as being the best army. The Loyalists wanted independence but, they doubted their own military and feared Please note that this sample paper on The Olive Branch Petition is for your review only.
