11/16/0The result of losing a parent often results in a stressful lifestyle. Life becomes even more stressful when the thought of revenge comes to mind. In Shakespeare's, Hamlet; Hamlet suffers the loss of his father along with the thought of revenge. Two months after the King passes away, his ghost visits Prince Hamlet telling him to kill the murderer, Claudius. Hamlet apparently fails to fulfill his father's requests for another two months.

Hamlet portrays a character with a multitude of philosophic excess. He thinks about killing Claudius and himself but rarely acts on his provisions. First, Hamlet contemplates the thought of suicide but never actually carries out the awful contemplation. He thinks of suicide, but then decides it is against church law. Hamlet believes it would be much easier to kill himself than to live in disgust of his uncle, his mom, and their nasty marriage. Though the thought of suicide lurks in his mind, he is scared of going to hell and wishes that "the Everlasting had not fixed His canon against self-slaughter(). Second, Hamlet thinks about killing Claudius and waits too long, so the effect is not in his favor. The result of Hamlet's hesitancy leads to many more deaths. Stopping to think before acting cost Hamlet numerous opportunities to get revenge.Hamlet wants to seek full revenge on his uncle. He states, "Haste me to know't, that I with wings as swift as meditation or the thoughts of love, may sweep to my revenge"(57,5). He still does not accomplish this as quickly as he announces, which demonstrates his inability to step into action. Third, Hamlet ironically passes up his most obvious opportunity when Claudius is praying in the church. He wants to wait until Claudius is doing something that has no relish of salvation in t.(16). In other words, he claims that he does not want Claudius to go to heaven, so he would rather kill him when he is committing a sin. Although Hamlet eventually gets his revenge, his procrastination costs him his life, many others, and the life of his mother, his one reason for living. When getting revenge, Hamlet often disproves his moral cowardice throughout his irresolution. Hamlet is not incapable of doing harm to Polonius, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, or Claudius. First, there is no moral cowardice when Hamlet murders Polonius. Although Hamlet meant to kill Claudius, he does not display an inability to end someones life when killing Polonius. He compares the murder of Polonius to Claudius killing King Hamlet and the marriage with Gertrude, calling the murder, "a bloody deed"(171). Second, Hamlet changes the King's orders to have Rosencrantz and Guildenstern executed. Hamlet makes sure "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern hold their course for England"(1). Hamlet obviously does not let his morals get in his way. He neither pauses nor yields in sending Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to their death sentence. Third, Hamlet realizes that the king has poisoned him and so he finally kills the king. He is aware that he is the target of a pre-planned duel, Hamlet lets his anger overcome him. So he orders the King to "drink off this potion"(81). Hamlet kills Claudius in a rash doing, therefore overcoming his own tragic flaw. All of this is not bad for someone who does not know the meaning of the word action and let his morals get in the way of his actions. Hamlet does not doubt the presence of his father's ghost. While trusting the Ghost, Hamlet believes that his father has come to visit him, plots to carry out his father's orders, and uses Horatio for the final confirmation he needs to better trust King Hamlet's verdict of his killer. First, Hamlet believes in the Ghost from the very beginning. He never completely doubts or shuts out the idea that his father is back to visit him. He also proves trust of the Ghost when he swears his buddies to silence about what has occurred. Even at the very first appearance Hamlet says, "Speak. I'm bound to hear"(57). He does not represent mistrust at all to his father. Second, Hamlet is quick to carry out the Ghost's orders to get revenge for his father's death. Immediately following Hamlets conversation with the Ghost, he seems strong-minded to grant the Ghosts wishes. Hamlet is so anxious to get revenge that he says, "Haste me to know't, that I with wings as swift as meditation or the thoughts of love may sweep to my revenge"(57,5). Third, Hamlet uses Horatio to catch Claudius. Prince Hamlet takes the Ghost's accusation and tries himself to prove and to "catch the conscience of the King"(11). Due to the Kings reaction to the play, Hamlet attains the belief that the Ghost was telling the truth he needed the night of the spirit. Seemingly, there is trust of the Ghost or else Hamlet wouldn't have gone this far. Obviously the theory of mistrust of the Ghost from Hamlet's irresolution is greatly disproved. Without a doubt Hamlet suffers from excessive rationalization; as moral cowardice and mistrust of the Ghost can easily be disproved as theories of his inability to make up his mind, while he avenges his father's death. Hamlet's indecisiveness causes him the most emotional pain and self-hatred, because he cannot commit to avenging his father's death. These qualities exhibited by Hamlet are the same character flaws that are common in many people, and which play a large part in their lives. . Baking bread can be a very involved and complex procedure. Not only does a baker need to be precise in measuring and mixing ingredients, but allowing the bread to rise takes a lot of time and patience. Much like baking, teaching needs to be fulfilled by a dedicated person. This person needs to care very much for the line of work that they are involved in and the people that they affect. I think of a teacher as a baker and a student as bread, a result of a dedicated process of mixing and kneading, letting the bread rise on its own, and baking to perfection. Similar to the profession of teaching, baking carries many responsibilities. Although teaching students is far more consequential than baking bread, bakers are pressured with large orders and time limits, and they need to be accountable for their products. The ingredients of the bread can be said to resemble a students background. Every student has a unique family setup, a different set of beliefs, and an individual way of learning. Even if the students have been going to the same elementary school since day one, each child has a different way of grasping a lesson and applying that to their understanding. Like the bread rises on its own, students need to be willing to learn, open minded to new ideas, and ready to participate in daily lessons and assignments. The bakers responsibilities of measuring and mixing ingredients can be compared to a teachers responsibility of preparing and lesson planning for an effective assignment in the classroom. Like the baker, the teacher needs to be prepared and ready for any kind of circumstance. Being skillful and ready to tackle sticky situations is a big part of classroom management. Similar to teaching, baking also calls for people to be qualified to handle situations such as the bread not rising correctly, missing ingredients, and of course consumers not enjoying their product. I am a firm believer of the method of teaching called constructivism. I think that guiding and inspiring students in a learning situation is far more effective than lecturing them. By letting students make discoveries on their own they gain a better understanding of the lesson being taught. Constructivism is a process that is very similar to that of a baker when letting bread rise. A baker needs to let bread rise, as teachers need to give students time on their own to reflect and work and solve problems on their own. Like bread needs to rise on its own, students have the responsibility to take part in their own learning. When baking bread, different aspects of the environment such as the temperature that you let the bread rise are crucial. In teaching, environment is also very important. Like bakers need to keep a clean, stocked area in case any mishaps occur, teachers should be ready to encounter any problems in the classroom. Methods teachers use should keep a comfortable atmosphere for the students. Sometimes bread can do unpredictable things when rising or baking. From time to time, situations may come up that are unanticipated. To handle these unexpected situations, a teacher must prepare for special students with learning problems and different abilities. A teacher can anticipate for this by planning different methods of teaching the same lesson in case his/her students cannot grasp the lesson. Also, other students, like other ingredients in baking bread, have a great impact on teaching. Teachers need to be aware of the different social stages children go through while growing up. When children are in junior high, they care very much about what their peers think of them. Others have a large impact on how learning affects a child. Anyone should be happy about his or her occupation, not just teachers and bakers. Bakers want to please people with their bread. They want people to enjoy it enough to tell friends so that they may gain business. Similarly, teachers want their students to be motivated through their daily lessons and exercises so that they are inspired to learn. The only way a baker can tell how effective he/she is to test the final product. Teachers can also do this by analyzing how their students have grown educationally after the lesson. It is too bad that we cannot just throw away the old students if they do not turn out as well, like bread that did not turn out good. Instead, teachers must work at children, and try to do the best they can to help them grow and learn so that they do not fall behind the rest of the class. Like some bread needs more kneading, some students may need a little extra help during certain exercises. There are many different types of bread, such as sourdough, rye, apple cinnamon, and banana nut just like there are many different types of students. After observing the similarities between the professions of teaching and baking, I have come to find with time and dedication, many things are possible. Being devoted to your career can be very self-fulfilling when you see that your hard work has paid off. Things like classroom management, passing motivation to your students, and knowing your responsibilities can help both you and your students. Teaching, similar to baking, needs to be professed by a dedicated person, who is willing to go above and beyond to make sure that his or her students are getting the most out of a lesson. Please note that this sample paper on teaching student metaphor is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on teaching student metaphor, we are here to assist you. Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Educating Rita, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Educating Rita paper at affordable prices! The film Educating Rita is all about changes. From the film we realise that change could be painful, that change may take a very long time or it may simply be just a change of a dress and that change is embraced by few with such positiveness and determination as confronted by Rita. Educating Rita uses different film techniques to shape the meaning of change, techniques such as use of music, camera work and different metaphors such as the 'barriers'. Educating Rita can be related back to the poem The Door (Miroslav Holub). As the movie commences and the camera, after some time, focuses on Rita we see that Rita is a child of the welfare state. Rita is naive, innocent and from the working class. She works as a hairdresser. Rita decides that she wanted a change in her life, that she wanted to discover herself. Rita starts going to a college and she is a fresh spring breeze for her professor (Frank Bryant) who also is facing problems. To resemble how Ritas life is, as she is walking back home the camera focuses on the background and it is grey, dull and dirty and it is saying that if she does not change her life, she has a bleak future. Rita and Frank both help each other. To Frank, Rita is more then a student she is a blossomed flower in a group of dead ones, she is unique. Frank sees his students more annoying then anything, and he is constantly encouraging them that they should be enjoying everyday life. Rita is different and that is because she is inexperienced. Frank is also uncertain about Rita wanting to change and tells Rita "I don't know that I want to teach you. What you already have is valuable." Rita does not feel comfortable at her college and believes that she is fish out of water yet she is resolute of what she wants to do. Rita has reasons for change. She says, I dont want to be myself. Rita also realises that the process of change is long and painful. In the process Rita not only gets criticised by her husband but also her husband leaves her after leaving her a choice between him and her education. Rita also loses a lot of her friends, even though this does not always occur with change, and she is left out "…I'm a freak. I can't talk to the people I live with anymore. An' I can't talk to the likes of them on Saturday, or them out there, because I can't learn the language. I'm a half-caste." Her father criticises her saying that she should get pregnant and fulfil her role as a woman. But Rita is confident because, she wanted a better way of livin her life.

Rita is very convinced about wanting to change and when asked why she replies, ... Till one day, y own up to yourself, an y say, is this it? Is this the absolute maximum I can expect from this living lark? An thats the big moment that one, thats the point when y have to decide whether its gonna be another change of dress or a change inside. Ritas main support for change is Frank. Frank encourages Rita to change, but youll have a much better understanding of something if you discover it in your own terms. This can be related back to the poem The Door by Miroslav Holub, who throughout his poem tries to persuade the listener to go and open the door and experience the change first hand.Rita realises that changing is going to take a long time and that she will be making many mistakes Its not easy, most of the time Im making mistakes. Change will take time and she realises this as she is going to go to summer school, which will last a very long time. Before she leaves for summer school Rita is scared and wants her hand to be held I wish you could come with me. When she is leaving for summer school the music, created by various string instruments, is uplifting and pompous and is making the viewer realise that she is looking for much needed hope as she is scared that she may not fit in at summer school. When Rita is at summer school the music is uplifting as it is underlining the increasing confidence of Rita. From this the viewer realises that Rita embraced change with such confidence and determination she is benefiting from it. The music is signifying that the wheels of change are in motion. The change in Rita after coming back from summer school is like the change felt by a person from winter to spring. She is full of self-confidence, happiness and pumped up to tackle any obstacle. I stood up, honest to god, I stood up! Rita got up in front of a whole lecture theatre and argued with the teacher, thus finally proving that her change was almost complete. When Rita is going back the camera focuses on the background, which is clean, serene and picturesque contrast to her early life where she was living in a dirty street. The picturesque scene signifies the change in Rita. This time when Rita is going to something new she tells Frank that If Ill end up as a white slave, Ill send you a postcard and showing the viewers how her confidence has grown, how the change has improved her and now that she is able to talk to the "likes of them Saturday". From the film Educating Rita, one learns a lot about change. We learn that change may take a long time, and it may take no time as Mahatma Ghandi says "Change can occur as quickly as you click your finger". Change, in this case, is painful and very long. Change is something that can only be done if the person "goes and opens the door" (The Door) expecting anything, from something big to something little, which will change your life. Furthermore change is a process which can only be embraced if the person is willing to. Please note that this sample paper on Educating Rita is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on Educating Rita, we are here to assist you. AbstractThis case study takes place in a community hospital on a rainy Monday morning. The new executive assistant to the CEO, Chris Smith, has just started his job and is getting a brief synopsis of issues and problems that he has been asked to analyze and propose solutions to. After gathering all the information possible, looking at discrepancies, and talking with employees of the hospital, Chris determines that the problem is the general nature of the mission statement, and the desire of all stakeholders to keep the hospital solvent in their own way. The proposals needed to solve any problems must be ready in one week.Case Study Faith Community Hospital Chris Smith, as the executive assistant to the CEO at Faith Community Hospital, is given the charge to come up with a report for the first ever held staff meeting that will propose solutions to the negative publicity and the hospital funds that, according to the hospital accounting department, are going in the red. Chris found that the best way to solve problems is to identify them specifically. He went on a fact finding information search, checked out discrepancies, and also had conversations with the staff at the hospital. The main problem he discovered was the nature of the mission statement and a lack in staff training. His proposal included a re-write of the mission statement, new guidelines for all staff and specific, regular, training to inform all involved of the changes.

Essay help on Problem Identification

Our reading and classroom discussions have taught that getting all of the information possible is critical to identifying a problem. The CEO gave Chris some general ideas about what kinds of issues where coming up at the hospital, but nothing specific. When the information is all put together, mapped out so that it is all in front of you, the picture becomes a little clearer. Asking questions also helped Chris in determining the problem. Why is the most often asked question. "Why did the DNR directive get administered differently?". "Why do doctors treat some patients and not others just because of insurance issues?". Another action that Chris took was to do some comparing. In the past the costs were less per patient, but was the quality going down, or were there other reasons for the increase? Chris had to look at the information the accounting department gave them regarding fixed costs and compare them to the per patient number. He also used plans and forecasts to decide what the current trend would do to the hospital, which our classroom text explains is helpful in pinpointing a problem and finding solutions. The problem that Chris identified was the broad, general nature of the mission statement, multiple interpretations of it, and a lack of training for the entire staff at the hospital. The mission statement is a general, warm-fuzzy, religious statement and is being interpreted in many ways. The hospital is still a business and must still operate as such. The problem with the mission statement is because it so broad and open, there are many different interpretations of it. The second problem that Chris identified is the lack of training for staff members. The CEO admitted that the meeting where he would present his proposals would be the first of its kind during his administration. None of the staff seemed to be on the same page because they never had communication and training that helped them understand what the mission statement and their specific responsibilities entailed. To solve the problem of the mission statement, Chris proposed re-writing the missions statement so that the focus is on the health and well being of the people in the community and the service and commitment to excellence in the medical industry. This task would require the assistance of the Board of Directors, or a representative of that board to participate in some brainstorming sessions so that the statement would still reflect the values of the community and the founders of the hospital. To solve the problem of many interpretations of the mission statement, Chris proposed regular staff meetings and training sessions. The problem of individual interpretation comes from a lack of information. The specific meaning of the mission statement and every procedure in the hospital should be disseminated to every member of the staff - doctors, nurses and aides alike. This information should also shared with the community so they would be aware of the hospitals procedures as well as their caring staff and solid religious values. The changes Chris proposed were monumental but necessary if the hospital were to stay afloat. They had to be well planned out and implemented carefully and slowly. The solutions when fully in place would keep the staff members employed and the community happy. ReferencesUniversity of Phoenix. (Ed). As U. S. citizens we really don't realize what a great life we are living. We never have a problem with food, there are jobs out there for everyone, almost everyone household as a T.V and access to the Internet. There are public schools for everyone and anyone can go get a college degree. Big problems that occur in our life occur everyday are nothing to those that live in some of these third world countries. Probably about 0% of our country couldn't survive a year living the life of some of these third world countries. Egypt is a third world country that is filled with poverty. Although the poverty in Egypt is not as bad some other smaller third world countries it's still there. Egypt is taking many steps to improve its country and come out of povetry. Egypt under President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak holds about 70,71,45 people in its country. It's a very dry hot dessert area and plant and water life are very vacant. The country lives under periodic droughts, frequent earthquakes. Flash floods, landslides, and hot driving windstorms. These Natural hazards cause many problems for people who want to plant goods. They do have some water ways like the Nile river which runs right through the country. They plant a lot of agricultural products but a lot of the machinery and food they receive are all imports. The export is about $7.1 billion dollars a year and import about $164 billion. From this you can really see how much they really need products from other countries like the U.S and how poverty is a big factor in there lives. Another big problem with Egypt that they are looking to fix is the Education. There are schools and classes to help kids and adults read but there is just not enough. A lot of the country is not educated in reading or writing. Only about 51.4% of the total population can read and write. This is for ages from 15 and over, you can see that they need to improve on their education. They really need to get the younger kids reading, and need to get the females learning more not just working around the house. Only 8.8% of the females over 15 can read and write. The poverty in Egypt has really put a lot of hurt on there life expectancy. Female women have a life expectancy of 66.4 years and for males its about 61.6 years, that is just retirement for men and women living in the US. There are many steps towards improvement going on in Egypt right now. The United Nations Development program is doing a big part in improving Egypt. The biggest goal of The UNDP is to fight poverty and improve the quality of life for those living in Egypt. One of the biggest ways that the UNDP is fighting poverty is starting more jobs across the country. They hope this will help educate more people in the country and help with the supply and demand. They feel with more people working, it will help make the country more economically better. The UNDP has built up private sectors and promoted local development through its support to small and medium-scale enterprises. UNDP is helping to establish Integrated Business Support Centers in Egypt, which will provide small businesses with training, information, support services and technical assistance. This will in all help educate more and more people and will help spread the job opportunity everywhere, which will ultimately produce a better more educated economy.

The UNDP is not only helping with the job opportunity in Egypt but is also has projects to help the country be more technology developed. While the country has only about 1-% access to the Internet they are trying to develop programs that give free access to the Internet for all people. UNDP is working with the government to produce over 00 Technology Access Community Centres. This would allow free access to the Internet and have classes that would educate people on the computers and Internet. This would also help in job opportunities and help in developing building that work on fighting poverty. Today the main tool being used to support Information and Communications Technology -for-development is the ICT Trust Fund for Egypt, which has been established under the joint auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt and the UNDP.Egypt faces many environmental challenges. Protecting the country's natural resources and regenerating those resources that have suffered degradation stand as important features of sustainable development and the campaign to help the poor. Promoting renewable energy technologies & efficient lighting systems and energy conservation techniques as well as Clean Development Mechanism activities, including the introduction of fuel cell buses and electric buses. Another steps is Protecting groundwater and international surface waters from pollution and demonstrating the use of low cost techniques for wastewater treatment through a pilot project in Lake Manzala. As you can see the UNDP is making big steps in helping Egypt come out of poverty. I feel that although Egypt doesn't have some of the bigger problems that the other third world countries have but its does have a lot of little ones. It seems that Egypt biggest problems are with the weather conditions and a lot of the education. Its great to have a program like the UNDP to help out Egypt anyway it can. UNDP is making great steps to help them out and is going above and beyond to get Egypt out of poverty. Egypt has come a long way from when it first got its Independence and there is nothing but progress ahead. Please note that this sample paper on Poverty in Egypt is for your review only.
