Socrates was put in prison for "corrupting the youth". While in prison he is visited by his friend Crito who tries to persuade Socrates into escaping his punishment of death. He gave many arguments for why he wouldn't escape from prison. His first argument was that it would be wrong for Socrates to abandon the arguments in which he believed and taught in the past simply because his life was in danger. If he were to change his beliefs at this moment it should be for reason other than his soon to come death.This argument that Socrates gave was very simple yet real.
