To me, life seems like it was boring back in the 10s. Here is a quotation from early in the book. "People moved slowly then. Black men would not have had an opportunity to be a lawyer or probably wouldn't own a store either. When the men got home they would take care of their family and listen to the radio. The children lead a simple life. White kids would go to school when they were old enough and they would help out and do chores around the house. The children would play outside with their friends and the boys would play football and the girls would play with dolls and do stuff like that. Black kids would work and help their parents and help raise the little kids. In some towns black kids might go to school but in Maycomb black kids didn't go to school.
